The Lothario
The Lothario is located nearby the Red Light District, but closer to Upper Eavesdown. It was an older hotel that was never finished because the people ran out of money before it could be finished. After a while, the building was sold. One part of it, the top floor, was bought by Carter Blake and finished into a spacious penthouse, complete with a small area on the roof suitable for a shuttle to land. The rest of the building was bought by the Boss, the local syndicate leader and completed a bit at a time. The purpose was to convert the building into a sort of bordello for male whores that would be tasked with providing sexual services to female patrons. As rooms were completed, male prostitutes were moved in and services were immediately available. There was a problem for the complete utilization of the property and it was Carter Blake. Since he owned the top floor, they were unable to completely fill the building to capacity. They wanted the penthouse level for the same reasons he did; for the access to the shuttle landing area. But that was impossible as long as Carter was there. What was even more inflammatory to the syndicate was the fact that Carter Blake was a Companion who offered a much higher class experience than the syndicate's people could. It also made the Lothario look as if it was run by Carter instead of the Boss and his people, thus making it appear like the syndicate was not committed to the project or had relinquished control of a profitable enterprise to an outsider. It was a weakness and the Boss definitely didn't like to have any weaknesses. The problem would have to be resolved somehow. He could easily have Blake killed, but the Companion had some very influential clients who could make things a little uncomfortable for the Boss. So the "take over" of the property would have to be done in a much subtler way. |

The Lothario houses 28 male prostitutes, as well as 10 wave operators. There was a larger, more luxurious suite on the fourth floor that was the living quarters of the Controller of that segment of business. The Controller's identity is a well guarded secret, thus giving the establishment more of an "upper class" feel to it.
The ground floor was where the wave operators were located. The second and third floor housed the workers on the lower rung on the food chain (much like the Steppers in Upper Midtown). The fourth and fifth floors were dedicated to the more profitable ones (much like the Gems in the Flats). Attached to the third floor and extending over the roof of the second floor (in the front part of the building) is a large area that has been converted into a classy open air cafe/restaurant that clients could share food and drink with their "dates" for the evening. The Boss's cut is 20% of total income, plus an extra 10% for the Controller. Quota is strictly adhered to. There is a substantial incentive in place for anyone who gets Carter Blake to move out of the Penthouse level without causing any large commotion in doing so. |
