We welcome original characters, particularly women. Commoners, who can easily be members of the Sans-Culottes in the House of Governance, are more than welcome too... and just because you're a commoner is no impediment to a rise to power! If you'd like to do some research and suggest another historical personage, that's welcome, too. Wikipedia, however ignominious it might sound, is actually very useful for research purposes.
Lords and Ladies or other nobility would find themselves on very dangerous ground, as they would need a very good reason not to be guillotined, but if you want to create one, put a reason why they aren't dead, or why they haven't fled France, in the application.
We can always use doctors, lawyers (they're logical choices as politicians), members of the National Guard (like police), working women (ever heard of the
March of the Fishwives?), prostitutes, feminists, middle-class women who might like to marry someone of political importance... etc. Soon we may have a warfront up, and we can take soldiers. We
can take wounded and discharged soldiers.
