Bienvenue

~Welcome to The Third Estate. Set in Paris in the summer of 1794, this alternate-history RP allows you to decide the outcome of the Revolution. The Reign of Terror is in full swing; Robespierre heads the bloodthirsty Committee of Public Safety. No one's ideology goes unquestioned, and the people of France are experiencing a moral freedom such as has never been seen before. Paris is a place of fear, lust, and power-brokering. How will you survive it?

This site is rated R for violence, language and some sexuality.

NOTE: NEWLY UPDATED AND ARRANGED

The participants in the French Revolution were many, and their lives often ended abruptly with the downward swipe of the guillotine. In this RP, you're the master of your character's fate, and need not stick to every detail of his or her life, if you choose a character whose name does belong to the books of the past. Still, do stay true to their ideological allegiance unless necessity later requires that they switch.

Note: I've provided pictures of the characters as they actually looked, if available. In your choice of representation, try to stay more or less true to these, or PM me with a reason for radically altering appearance if you so choose. (And yes--you can make them more attractive than they were. I know that's fun).

Les Personnages

RED denotes a member of the Committee of Public Safety

BLUE denotes a member of the Committee of General Security, in charge of the National Guard's policing of the city. Increasingly, there's tension between this group (who has to do the footwork) and what they perceive as the high-and-mighty Committee of Public Safety.

X before the name denotes a character who's been reserved or taken
