I might not have the money (now) to get a really fantastic overdrive, but I'm looking into them now, so I can prepare when I can get it.
I've done some soundclip searching and the Fulltone OCD sounds really good. I'm particularly looking at boutique-range stuff, as I feel it's probably the best sounding and it will last the longest on my pedalboard.
Keeping the budget no more than $200. I might be selling my Whammy pedal, I don't seem to be using it much at all. The DF-7 will for surely go once I get a new distortion. I'm looking for something versatile but not confusing.
The type of overdrive I'm looking for is something along the lines of JCM range. I can probably tweak to tastes. More than likely I'll be running it through the distortion channel on the V33 anyways, so I don't need overly much grit.
Thanks in advance.

MXR GT-OD is what i am currently using and before that was a Cusack Screamer. i much preffered the sound of the MXR over the Cusack and it sounds a tighter which is a win

not too sure to be honest, most of the od pedals i've tried would either suit the "not too much grit" aspect but be too expensive (e.g. klon centaur) or else fall under budget but probably have too much gain (e.g hbe power screamer)...

So say price tags don't matter.
What would you suggest for the grit of a JCM800 in pedal form? I've decided it's probably not the best idea to use my gain channel on the amp, as many have said, it sounds very muffled.

That's funny Dave.
There's those pedals on guitarfetish.com that I've been meaning to look into more, but I'd have to pay sales tax as they're located in my state. The pedals are $230 minus the 3-stage one which is $290. But apparently they have an 800-like pedal.

For ODing I'd go with heroin. Your body might turn a cool green color.
