So Mississippi State appears to be on the way out as they are in the bottom of the 9th and trail Louisville 12-4. Congrats to the Cardinals for winning their first College World Series game.

Also, I hope UNC can rep the ACC well tonight with a win over Rice.

Pac-10 and Big West reppin 2 teams in the CWS. ACC only 1... talk about faltering in the regionals.

ASU can and should take care of the Beavers.

Don't really care who wins it since WSU and Mizzou got knocked out in regionals. But I'd kind of like to see Rice win it just because I get to watch them a lot. They usually play my d2 college here so I'll get to watch them, pretty fun team to watch play.

Good to see the underdog UC-Irvine Anteaters win a couple games. Perhaps they could be baseball's next powerhouse.....

Man I wish VT would make the College World Series sometime. Hell, even JMU has an appearance.

Part of the problem is facilities. That is slowly improving but it has a long way to go. We also have a long tradition of being mediocre under our last coach. He was REALLY good before, but became kind of like a poor man's baseball version of Joe Paterno. It was apparent for YEARS that the guy was past his prime (and over his head in major conferences after years in mid-major affiliation). But noone was going to fire him because he was a genuinely great man and he had been very successful before.

Our new coach is pretty good though and I think he may right the ship and get VT baseball back to greatness, but on a grander stage.

They'll get up and play for the elimination games.

You'll see.

Tar Holes or Cardinals ...

Can they both lose?

Oh well, Rice should advance out of that bracket anyway.

Or maybe UNC is just pretty damn good. At the point, as good as all the teams left are, it's all a crapshoot just about. The margin between the best team and the 8th best team is small. And in baseball, just about anything can happen.

Yep, Louisville very well could have knocked off Rice in the first game of the CWS, instead they blew it and they changed the way the rest of the bracket was played

Baseball isnt that great of a sport to play one game against 1 team, in this type of format

Especially when the talent is this close, it is really just luck and weather conditions
