Russia has crushed Iran, Germany has rolled Angola, Spain beat Greece in the rematch of the 06 WC, and Lithuania pulls off a minor shocker beating Argentina by 4. USA/China tips off at 10:15 AM EST.

US won 101-70. Lebron played great. Other than Michael Redd, though, we really struggled from 3.

Our women turned our basketball dominance into a 1-2 punch with their own blowout of China. Unfortunately, Benedict Hammond and Russia won their game against South Korea.

Benedict Hammond

Ohh come on, she wasn't going to make the US team anyways, and she has duel citizenship in Russia. Wouldn't you want to go to the Olympics too if you had the chance?

Sure I would, but I shouldn't be able to just go play for whoever I want. This is the Olympics, not the professional leagues. There should not be free agency any more than there should be a draft.

You would go play where you have citizenship, yep. Correct you are.

China had Spain dead to rights in their game this morning and choked away a 14 point 4th quarter lead.

Give me enough time and enough incentives and that can be almost anywhere.

She's FAR from the only athlete to do that too. I agree it kind of sucks how easy it is for some people to get on another country's Olympic team, but it should be the responsibility of the Olympic committee to monitor and change the rules to account for that.

I can't blame any of the athletes though. I'd do it too if it meant I had a chance to play in the Olympics. Sure I'd rather play for my home country, but it would still be awesome none-the-less.

Spain is next. Pau Gasol vs Dwight Howard should be toughness mismatch, we'd better not lose this one. The way we are playing right now, Argentina should be the only team that can hang with us.

Not quite Dream Team II, but we're winning easily so far.
