So I picked up a Nintendo Wii on Black Friday (my roommate wanted to go and I was half drunk). I was able to buy it for $99.99 and came with a Wii remote and nunchuck. We went home and my roommate found someone selling an external 1.5 TB harddrive with 500+ Wii games for $140. I ordered that and it came about two weeks later. My roommate also found Best Buy selling FlingSmash for $8. The beauty of this game is that each game came with a Wii Remote Plus (normally $40 for one) so he purchased three of them and I paid him back.

He soft-modded the Wii to play the games off the HDD and I added every single SNES, NES, and Genesis game. Plus around 100 N64 games aswell and added a few Wii games that didn't come on the HDD.

I purchased four Classic Controller Pro's ($20 each) from Wal-Mart so we can play the older games.

So far, in the two weeks I've had it all set up, I've played a handful of SNES games, beaten the new Mario game, and am about 6 or 7 hours into the new Zelda game.

Every single SNES, NES, and Genesis game. Plus I'll add my favorite N64, Playstation, and Saturn games as well. It's nirvana.

Now I have a nerd boner. If I had all the old NES/SNES games, my wife would probably leave me because I'd become worthless.

It's great. Though overwhelming. So far I've stuck to playing 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' with my roommate. Played a game of Super Batter Up, beat my roommate down in Evander Holyfield's Real Deal Boxing, and a few other games. I'll probably play a little Streets of Rage soon. The Classic Controller Pro is great, it almost resembles a Playstation controller and is very easy to get used to while playing the old games.

If you don't want the Wii games you could easily buy a used Wii, remote, and CCP for around $70 or so. All of the old school games would fit on a decently sized flash drive (all of them together were like 3 GB, if that) and you could load it straight off the flash drive. Want to play with someone else and could probably get another remote and CCP for $30. So you're talking about $100-$120 for everything. Well worth the money.

Raider, I don't know what phone you're rocking these days, but if it's an Android, there's an app called NESoid that has virtually every game on it. I play Tecmo Bowl, I beat Zelda the other day, I've played all the Marios, and Excitebike still pwns. Plus, touch screen duck hunt. They've got them for SNES, Genesis, et al. as well. It's greatness. I think it cost like $8.99.

I'm the last adult on earth without a smart phone. I'm sure I'll give in eventually, though.
