Title: Elton brands England team a 'disgrace'

Sir Elton John has slammed the England football team as a "disgrace" after Portugal knocked them out of the World Cup on Saturday.
The Don't Go Breaking My Heart singer made his feelings public when he made his comments during a gig in Bournemouth, hours after the quarter-final match finished.
John, who is friends with David Beckham, attributed most of the blame to coach Sven Goran Eriksson.
He told the sell-out crowd, "There has not been an outstanding player at this World Cup. I do not even want to talk about that f**king Sven Goran Abba-dabba.
"As always the England fans have been fantastic. They have been let down by the team and let down by people earning GBP125,000 a week.
"It's a disgrace."

They can't win every year, but it was bad, Rooney getting the red card then failing miserably on penalty kicks.

If one thing will never change throughout sports history, it's that wannabees and knowitalls will always figure out exactly what the coach should have done and exactly when should be should be fired.
Yawn, another stupid fan....

I highly doubt that Elton John is a respectable soccer critic, just another fan putting high expectations on a team.

What you don't realise is England were lead by the worst manager they have had in a long time. They couldnt sack him because of some sort of contract difficulty. Every single person over in england wanted him sacked a long time ago.
Hopefully now Steve McClaren, who is a damn fine manager, can do a decent job
