10 years later, Alice has fallen down the rabbit hole once again! Having thought their daughter to be crazy, Alice’s parents sent her to an asylum to cure her of her silly ramblings--but it seems the more they tried to make her forget, the more Wonderland's nonsensical whimsy twisted into dark logic! After falling through, the Looking-Glass has shattered! Alice has only 3 days to find all the mirror’s shards, each containing mysterious powers, and dangerously desired by Wonderland’s inhabitants. Can she mend the mirror, and save Wonderland from a chaotic war against itself, that will lead inevitably to insanity? Only Time will tell…
The Shattering Looking-Glass is a dark Alice in Wonderland RPG, created on January 11, 2009. Incorporating real mental disorders into its story, its separates itself from others, deeming it original, as well as highly interesting. It has been running strong since the day it opened, and migrated from Myspace to a forum, in hopes of finding loyal, talented role players like you!

"Calloo, Callay, come run away-- with the cabbages, and kings!"
And just for giggles... ravens have been written about on many a desk. I think it would be a suitable place for them to perch, as well.

Calloo, Callay, come run away-- with the cabbages, and kings!
Yes, I think I did that correctly. I assure you it was read.

Read the directions and directly you will be directed.
A raven is like a writing desk because neither is like a bed wheel. How unfortunate for them! D=

W A R N I N G:Choosing to skip or skim the rules is a sign of disrespect, and will only get your application ignored. You must thoroughly read them all and sign below.
Our RPG - This group is not based on Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, Frank Beddor's 'Looking-Glass Wars', American's Mcgee's Alice, or SyFy's Alice! Our original storyline was created long before these movies, and was written while unaware of these books/games. Several location titles can be credited to Beddor, and can be found in the Credits. Any other similarities (including playby choices), are merely a coincidence.
Auditioning - Originally, our group did not start off on Invisionfree, or any other type of related software. We’ve altered our auditioning process the best we can in order to adapt to the common forum standards. If things seem strange and unusual, this is why. We apologize for any confusion. Details on the applying process can be found in our Application Guide. If you have any questions, you can check out our FAQ, or formspring.
Background/Knowledge - You do not need to read the books in order to audition! As long as you've seen the Disney version of the film, or know the story of Alice in Wonderland and/or Through the Looking Glass, you'll be fine.
Difficulty level - This is a group for literate intermediate to advanced writers. While there is no word count requirement, we would like for you to be able to consistently write at least four to five full length paragraphs. (This means around seven sentences a piece). All starters and posts should be this way. And of course, always spell check your work and use proper grammar. If you get this far, disregard the rule labeled "Signing", and sign these rules with the words, "Calloo, Callay," instead.
Rating - Horror//Violence PG-13. This is a Mature RPG which includes mild language, sexual content, as well as gore and violence. As far as language goes, this is a problem we see frequently in auditions, and should be cleared up. Wonderland is a vulgar language free zone because of the time period it’s in. However, traditional and classic swear words are appropriate, such as: damn, dammit, bastard, and Hell. No F-bombs, please.
Face Claim - We're sorry to say that our faces are pretty much set in stone. We know, we know, it's just a face! So why, you ask? Well, it's because if you look around, these pretty little faces are plastered all over our page. Our layout, forums, videos, character bio's...etc. If we change now, there will just be some random actor all over our page, and that would be quite silly. If you dislike your playby, you're free to use pictures of a non-famous person, or a drawing, blurred, or distanced photo of someone or something else.
Relationships - Certain characters are set in relationships and need to stay in those dynamics. Please don't start one without notifying us first! Chances are, your character may fall in love along our journey! If you've gotten this far, sign the rules with, "come run away--" attached to the previous.
Graphics - All avatars must be between 157x270px, and no bigger. Signatures limits are 500x500px. You may do anything you want, just don't make it stretch out the page, and keep it appropriate. We care about how you write, not your abilities in the graphic department.
Interaction - This is where our group varies from most. We will have a mandatory group role play, filled with chapters and key points that need to be achieved in order to advance our story. Think of it as building a book. Confused? Don’t worry! All the needed information is provided for members, and it is a lot of fun! While our group role play is every one's first priority, individual storyline threads are used to set up past to present events, and help build relationships like a prequel. If you've gotten this far, sign the rules with, "with the cabbages," attached to the previous. You are required to start at least one active role play with another member/group of members. Replies must remain consistent; no later than 10 days per reply. (You are excused if it is your turn to post in the Group Role play.) This is our general way of determining how active our members are.
Activity - We understand everyone has lives AND other role play sources. This shouldn't have to be your life. All we ask is that you post one (or more) times in a non-role play thread twice a week (exp: inspiration threads, chat threads, brainstorming threads...etc.) post in the group role play when it’s your turn, and reply to your personal role play threads in a timely manor. In our Group RP, you have a set reasonable amount of time to post and, if you don’t, you’ll be skipped. If you are skipped three times without any plausible reason, you will be booted. If you need to be excused for personal reasons (finals, vacation, etc.), that's perfectly fine! But please message us first so that we know. If you're gone for more than two weeks without telling anyone, you will be replaced. Warnings will be sent out if you don't keep up. If you've gotten this far, sign the rules with, "and kings!" attached to the previous.
Getting Accepted - Once you've been accepted, you have one week to make an attempt to start a personal role play with another member. This could include posting in our Brainstorm thread, located inside the Individual Role Play forum. Don't worry, we'll give you time to get cozy and comfortable!
Leaving - If you decide you no longer can, or wish to be in the group, please don't just stop coming on. Let us know so we can replace you! You are free to leave at any time--no excuse necessary. We won't be mad (just naturally insane, of course!), we promise! Just be courteous and let us know.
Have Fun - The most important rule of all... Don't stress yourself out! The whole point of role playing is to relax, have fun and escape to your own Wonderland!
Signing - Sign the rules with what YOU think the answer is to the Mad Hatter's riddle, "Why is a raven like a writing desk?" It obviously doesn't have to be logical, since it doesn't actually make sense!
These rules may appear to be strict, and our differences from other forums may confuse you at first--but honestly, we're a pretty easy going group, full of the friendliest and most talented role players out there--so don't let this discourage you from applying!
