QUOTE (Corlupa @ Feb 11 2008, 09:27 PM)
Is it a global contest or is it just one contry it sounds fun but takes forever to get 1 chapter written. I'll have to start brainstorming now

The competition is International. However, they left it as NaNoWriMo (NationalNovel...) because it sounded better than InNoWriMo... O.o

Also, I wouldn't recommend starting to plan your entries until about a week before November. Trust me, it'll make the whole thing easier...

Well, a lot of people who have spent forever planning their grand best seller have difficulty writing it with a quantity over quality mind set.

Also, when your writing and you suddenly realise something about your novel that didn't know before, such as why the antagonist is summoning some evil god, or who your protag is going to defeat said evil god it makes everything so much more interesting.

Basically, it is easier to write a novel you know nothing about than a novel you know everything about.

I never thought of it that way before, Jay. Good advice! Especially for one who has a much more quality-over-quantity mindset. I'll try and get rid of that for NaNo.

Oh crumbs... XD
I wrote 60,242 words last year - it turns out my muse works better at 4am >.< And I got very cross because my family took me on holiday for three days ^^ That is the first time I ever /didn't/ want to go on holiday.

My advice would be just write anything you want, it might seem stupid but actually giant trampolines at the foot of cliffs /can/ be pulled off if you do it with style (I must admit I failed at that particular scene though. My MC got himself into a pickle and it was the only way out TT_TT).

Thanks biggrin.gif I kept going to help Wales win the regional word war, but I failed TT_TT. My birthday is on the 24th of February, so I stopped at 242... which neatly happened to be the end of a sentence ^^
