Remus walked onto the Pitch, Lily close behind him.
"I know he'd be out here. He's James..." Remus said, automatically glancing up at the sky for a whizzing broomstick.
"But what am I going to say?"

"Don't worry Remus, it'll be as easy as 1-2-3." Lily said confidently, but she was a bit more confident on the outside then she was on the inside. Oh, I hope I haven't done anything to ruin Remus' friendship with James! She thought to herself nervously as she looked up to try and see a flying broomstick.

Sirius comes bounding over. He sees Remus and Lily both looking into the sky. He takes this moment to walk quickly around behind them. He crept up, and he had his hands right to their backs, ready to push. But.....

"Hm. D'you think he might be in the common room?" Remus asked Lily with a sigh.
He turned to go but nealry jumped out of skin once he saw a person standing right behind him and tumbled bacward a bit, barely catching his footing.
"Dammit Sirius! What 're you doing??" he asked, holding back a laugh.

"I don't know," Lily shrugged and sighed, turning around and jumping slightly at seeing Sirius. 'Okay... Maybe it would be best to tell James and Sirius at the same time...' Lily reasoned to herself inwardly.

James walked out onto the pitch broom in hand. He mounted his broom and was about to take off when he spotted Lily, Sirius, and Remus.
"Oi! Remus, Sirius!" He yelled as he ran twards the three.
"Hey... er whats going on?" He asked giving a somewhat nervous smile.

Remus's heart dropped like a stone in his chest as he heard James's voice call out his name.
"Hey Prongs, how are you doing?" he said hesitantly, giving him a nervous grin.

"Erm, yeah, about that..." he paused, then figured it would be best to just get it over with.
"I kissed Lily and I now I'm afraid you're gonna kill me because you like her alot and I like her alot and now we're seeing each other and.... don't hurt me..." he blurted.

James' mouth dropped a bit and he dropped his broom.

His nervous smile quickly turned to a hurt and somewhat confused frown. He tried hard to smile as much as he could but ended up making a rather scrunched up funny face.

"No... er." He started, feeling his face get hot as he turned bright red.

"Thats fine... just fine." He said trying to sound as calm as he could. He was certainly mad at Moony.

But Lily's happy... so what does it matter?! He tried telling himself. He turned around quickly leaving his broom on the grass besides the others and walked off as quick as he could.

'Okay... so maybe that wasn't the most skillful way to handle it, but it worked,' Lily attempted to convince herself as she watched James walk off, she almost felt bad for him, but it wasn't technically her fault that she didn't return his feelings for her.

Remus watched James leave the pitch, he wanted to call after him, but couldn't. What would he say? What was there to say?

He heaved a sigh and and gave Sirius high-five waiting hand a small tap, not exactly in the high-five kind of mood at the moment.

Then, figuring what was best, he ran after James and stopped him in his tracks.
"Listen, I know you're pissed and all, but we're best mates! Don't let some girl slaughter our friendship!" he said encouragingly.
