The board in the front of the room read:

Shrinking Potion-
Ingredients: Caterpillar, Daisy roots, Leech juice, Rat spleen, Shrivelfig.

"G'morning class." Horace said. "Today we will be making a shrinking potion, but before that I will demonstraight it's effects on a taod." He said Pionting to a large toad on a counter. He opened a vial and dripped a little onto the toad. The toad turned into a tadpole.

"Okay class? Get Started." Horace mumbled. "Homework will be to test it on something."

OOC: Classwork=5 points Homework=5 points

Peter walked in and listened to the instructions. He would have normally copied of James or Sirius, but seeing how they were late. He got his ingredients and got to work. He added the ingredients to his cauldron. It fizzed and popped. Then, when he thought it was ready, he took out his bird and dropped some in it's mouth. The bird turned into an egg. Then, about ten seconds later, a baby bird popped out. "Oh capitol!"
OOC: I should be year 3 in like 24 hours

Sirius came bounding in with a smile from ear to ear. He listened(not really) to the professor. After wards, he put everythinginto his cauldron. Except for that he used an earthworm instead of a caterpillar. His potion turned to muk. How was he supposed to know what it to turn into. He gave it to his rabbit, and the rabbit turned still. Sirius banged on it, but nothing happened. He did feel stone instead of fur, tho. "Professor?!?"

Lily carefully took notes as Professor Slughorn talked, to make sure she didn't miss anything.

After she was done, she cut up her daisy roots and cut them into very even pieces. About ten minutes later, after she was done with her ingredients and loading them into the cauldron, the potion turned a bright acid green, and she grinned.

She carefully took out a cat, and dropped some with a dropper into it's mouth, and watched as it shrank into a kitten, who began purring.

Seeing Lily do it perfectly, Sirius walks over to her with the petrified rabbit and said, "Hey, what's up with my cat, smart one?"

Lily, of course, had watched some people do their potions before she attempted hers, to get some tips on what to do and not to do.

Eyeing the cat, she said, "Well, Sirius, I'm almost positive that you added an earthworm, contrary to a caterpillar." It always came in helpful that Lily had a good memory.

"Oh, oh, I guess I did. Is there anyway to make the de-transformation? This was my mother's cat, and if I can't turn it back, I'm dead!" Sirius looked at her hopefully.

OOC: FORGET THE ONE ABOVE ME!
BIC:

"Oh, oh, I guess I did. Is there anyway to make the de-transformation? This was my mother's rabbit, and if I can't turn it back, I'm dead!" Sirius looked at her hopefully.

ooc: I thought you said it was a rabbit

bic: "Well, since it's petrified (or at least, suffers similar symptoms), you might want to ask Professor Sprout about Mandrake Potion," Lily diagnosed, looking at the animal.

OOC: I fixed it

"And you can't, why?" Sirius looked at her amazed.

"Maybe because I don't have a mandrake drought handy," Lily rolled her eyes. In a way, she was flattered that Sirius was asking her for help, but another part was rather annoyed that Sirius hadn't listened and followed directions from Professor Slughorn.

"Fine, I guess I'll do SOME work finding her." Sirius walked away.

Lily watched him walk off with a slight smile of satisfaction plastered on her face, glad she had gotten him to at least do something other than flirt with girls.

Sirius looked around for James but couldn't find him. Then, he sees him. He goes over to him. "Hey there, James"
