when you register, sign up with the character you wish to play's full name in lower case. which means first, middle and last with no capital letters. just look at the other members of the site's usernames if you don't understand. also, you must post in the canon list.
the lion's roar is a literate/advanced roleplaying site, a crossover of harry potter and the chronicles of narnia. we currently only accept harry potter canons (be fair, look how many there are!), but original narnians are allowed. you must reserve your character in the canon list before posting an application.

`` INTRODUCTION i’m going to start off by saying that there will not be a secret phrase in this set of rules, however; it will do you good to read them, nonetheless. if you do not read them we will know, because we are the almighty admins and us almighty admins know all? get it? got it? good. `` GODMODING&&POWERPLAYING no godmoding or powerplaying; it is childish, illiterate and annoying and most people will dislike you for it. if there is something you would like another persons character to do then please ask them, do not make them do it for them. the person may not want that happening to or with their character; on the other hand, they may not mind. `` MARY-SUES/GARY-STUS no mary-sues or gary-stus; this means no perfect characters, all people have flaws and quirks and oddities, so please make your characters have them too. and no complaining, if you have a problem with this or an inquiry please contact an admin. `` LITERACY this site is friendly to people of all literacies, but obviously no one-liners. two paragraphs is a good amount, but if you cannot for the life you get past one paragraph then go back, re-read what you have written and see if you can word something in a different way to make it a little longer. add the clichè stuff; like flicks of the hair, glances out the windows, overuse your sighs and add some random reference to a previous experience that your character may have had. or just randomly mention something about your character (personality trait, something they’d done in the past, etc.) to help the roleplay flow. you will not be hunted down if you post a post under two paragraphs, just try to keep it above 100 words. at least try to give the replier something to work. `` RATING as of current this site remains unrated; this is because we welcome those of all ages. Just be aware that there are some people on this site whom do not wish to read this sort of thing. as per usual, put a warning in the topic description (and PM an admin if you forget) if it goes over … lets say, PG-13? but please, if clothes start to come off or parts can be seen, the almighty “fade to black” is needed. thanks. `` RESPECTr, e, s, p, e, c, t! find out what it means to me! … ehem, in other words; please no racial or sexual comments, no shunning and no excluding, treat everybody with respect. this is a role play site and a friendly one at that. please include everyone. if you are too shy or nobody will role play with you then contact the head admin and she will be more than willing to role play with you. respect is a big thing here, there’s a wonderful song written about it. most people say “treat others in the same manner you would like to be treated” but i like to say “treat others in the manner they would like to be treated” ... within reason, of course. `` CHATSPEAK please no talking without vowels, or chatspeak or other various abbreviations that let you get away with not writing two or three more letters. simple, easy to understand chatspeak elements may be used, such as gtg/g2g and brb. bt no tlkng lyk ths in chrctr OR out of chrctr bcoz it vry nnyng and hrd 2 rd, tnx (but no talking like this in character OR out of character because it is very annoying and hard to read, thanks). i, myself, do not bother with learning how to write incorrectly, i mean … what’s the use? Anyway, don’t do it in character, don’t do it out of character. simply because it annoys the admins (well, me at least) to the extent when they i self destruct. get it? got it? good.. `` PLAY BYS please use real, proper people for your character portrayal, no anime or manga or cartoon drawings or pictures please. simply because it’s a rule (which you must follow) and because the head admin is telling you to do so. so just obey (plus it’s annoying and unrealistic). oh, and you don’t have to use celebrities, feel welcome to use yourself or a friend/family member (just make sure you have their permission first!!). `` APPLICATIONS you may post incomplete applications, when you have finished your application PM an admin and they will look over it for you. ideally we like completed applications upon first post, but it’s okay.
`` REGISTERING when you register, please use the first, middle and last name of the character you wish to apply for in lowercase letter. if your character has a nickname that they are pretty much always addressed by (for example, Ronald Weasley would be called Ron all the time so an acceptable username would be “Ron Weasley”) then that’s fine too. if they have a hyphenated last name then a middle name is only optional.

good usernames [that will earn you brownie points]: dawnette elisha summers, dawnette carmichael-summers, dawnette elisha carmichael-summers
bad usernames [that will earn you a glare from moi]: dawnette summers, Dawnie Summers, hpluvr123, Dawn Summers, Dawnette E. Summers, and the list goes on … `` RESERVATIONS if you are going to join this site it is mandatory for you to look over the canon list before registering (originals are not accepted at the moment, be c’mon! look how many canons we have available!). once you register with the name of an available character you wish to play you are required to reserve that character (using the code in the canon list). when you have done that (and read all subplots your character is involved in) you may write up and post your application. all reservations last for five days unless you PM me with a good reason.
`` SIGNATURES/AVATARS [LIST]Hokay! So, for the avatars you [I]must have a 100x100, or it WILL be deleted. no exceptions! my word is final, 100x100 or nothing. and it must be of your character. for the signature, please do not exceed 500 pixels in height, as for width just don’t stretch the board and we’ll be happy. onto the obvious; nothing pornographic or inappropriate. if too much skin is showing i will be warning you, if not just deleting it.
