Would anyone happen to play World of Warcraft or Diablo 2 by any chance? I need more people to play with.

And those two games are amazingly awesome and amazing and amazingly awesomely fun and awesome!

I just succeeded with my first all nighter, and I think it affected me a little.
Woohoo! biggrin.gif

EDIT: I am currently in a WoW phase right now after playing so much TS2. It's kinda sad, but also fun. It means no more building houses, but at least I get to fight crazy creatures and get crazy spells for my mage! yeah!!

Oh quite a few of us play WoW. We have a guild, House Silverhart, on The Scyers server. I am Kiralinn (amoung others) on there. Just message me or any of the others when you see us online and join up. Or post your toon's name here and we'll keep an eye out for you.

Please see our My Space page for all the details on the guild. http://www.myspace.com/housesilverhart

Several of us also have toons on other servers too. I have two on Sisters of Elune and one on Zangarmarsh in the "It Came From the Blog" wow.com guild.

MY brother in law does, every Sunday afternoon right after lunch. Headset on, and off he goes with his friends. You know - he looks rather like some of his warriors - large. Very large. I could probably get both my feet into one of his boots. I usually make him a cup of coffee and have a look over his shoulder to see what his warrior is killing this week......

And the kill du jour is. erm, what exactly IS that thing, and are you sure it's dead, really sure, ick, that's NASTY!

I play a bit of WoW too. smile.gif

I'm with Kira smile.gif on the same servers except for the last one. What is Zangarmarsh Kira? smile.gif I also made a toon on a server that one of my client's was on, but I never go there. She's on Garona.

I love the scenery and some of the music in that game. I really like to explore too. I also like to moonfry. biggrin.gif I don't play a lot right now but I really want to try to get my Violet smile.gif up to lvl 40 by the New Year! (Her full name is Violetstar. )

It is a fun game. You should check out our guild.

I am really gonna try to play tonight.

I moved my Blood Elf Death Knight to the Zangarmarsh server so I could be in the www.wow.com guild named "It Came from the Blog". They are purely an RP guild and only get together for RP events, generally around the holidays. It's a huge amount of fun with nice, nice people! Totally worth moving there for it but you could just as well start a new character there - though I would recommend making a DE if you can, as some events are in higher level areas. The other members will protect you as much as they can, but it is certainly easier on you to be higher level. Some events also require having a mount.
Here's info if you want: http://www.wow.com/category/it-came-from-the-blog/

El (or anyone else for that matter), since you will be on tonight, meet me in SW around 6pm or so if you need some wand zaps for The Masquerade achievement. Between all my toons, we've pretty much got all the different costume possibilities covered.

I finally, finally finished The Hallowed achievement this weekend!! I thought that darned Squashling pet would never drop!

"While raiding in WoW, tension was high because people kept foolishly standing in the fire. When I AFK’d to get more coffee, my 4 yr old got on vent and sung “You are my Sunshine” to the group. When I came back, they were all singing along with her. The rest of the run went much better. IMMD"

Yup - just made my day too. biggrin.gif

Will do! I didn't think many other GMCers would be playing WoW! This is great! biggrin.gif

Currently I am leveling a gnome mage on Eitrigg, but I will make a new character. Are you guys horde or alliance?

What a great story Kira! cool.gif

How does this play on dialup? High-speed is recommended, but Maplestory is doable on dialup...although I tended to avoid the more populated servers and channels when possible, due to some torturous lag. And how much does it typically cost?

However...since I'm hoping to upgrade to high-speed next year, and that's probably when I'd also be able to buy the game and afford the subscription, maybe I'll just hold off anyway. I just wanna make more Orcs laugh.gif

Our House Silverhart guild on The Scryers is alliance and we tend to spend most of our time there. The toons on Sisters of Elune are horde.

We'll get you leveled and outfited pretty quickly so come on over. I won't be on this evening, but any of the others can get you into the guild and started. Just post your toons name here and we'll know to look for her/him.

Drew, I doubt very seriously WoW would be playable on dial-up. It is very graphics intensive. You also need to have a pretty good graphics card and memory. If you google 'WoW', the main site is the first one that comes up and you can see the costs and the recommendations on there. It's about $15 per month plus the cost of the game itself (about $60 with all of the expansions to date). I can't access it from work right now or I'd post the details for you.

Sorry I have not been on much this week. Been busy, busy, busy! I may be able to play at little later this week though. I'll be at the Renn Faire Sunday, weather permitting though.

That's okay Kira. smile.gif

I haven't really been on at all. I'm fighting something in the lovely sinuses. I think I'm gonna be asleep by like 7:00 tonight at the rate I'm going. lol...

I know that Jan smile.gif used to play on dial-up. I know that she had issues here and there. I don't know if it was so bad though. She would get "booted" now and then.

I hope you have fun at the Faire. I wish I could go. biggrin.gif

Yay! I'm making more Orcs! laugh.gif

So I'm on the third or fourth day of a 10-day free trial, and liking WoW more than I'd expected. First guy I made was a Tauren, but I found it kinda hard to roleplay a passive druid, so I skipped ahead to the Orc warrior happy.gif

I'm guessing that realm=server, right? I'm on Norgannon, think that's the name. I'm gonna try another Tauren again on Scryers, but is it possible to change servers? Might wanna move Mortag too, since he's already gotten pretty good at stuff...or maybe the dark elf hunter I made this evening, not sure. I just skipped out a bit ago because some yonk kept challenging me to duel him dry.gif

And yeah, after playing a bit I'm sure it just wouldn't be possible on dialup ohmy.gif Besides, it's WAY too awesome to just download the thing and start playing almost right away, instead of going to bed and waiting for it to download overnight laugh.gif

Uhoh...... biggrin.gif

Hi Drew. smile.gif It is fun, isn't it?

Our guild on The Scryers is Alliance. On the Sisters of Elune realm, it's Horde. smile.gif

I hope you get a faster way to play. smile.gif

Have fun and hope to see you!

Right - and we are mostly on The Scyers playing Alliance. Well I am anyway. Be sure to post your character names for us when you get to either The Scyers or to Sisters of Elune. On the trial, you can't talk to us unless we add you to our friends list first.

I actually got to play for a few minutes the other night. I think I will get to play Friday night and some this weekend too. biggrin.gif

So far I just have Berski, who's making his way to Orgrimmar because he refuses to use a gun, and simply must learn to use a bow instead. Gonna check if he can learn to use a two-handed axe there too since I've learned he can't use a shield. Lordy do I dig the Taurens, they're SO right up my alley cool.gif He's only level 8 however, so we'll see how far he gets....

I also got the urge to make a dwarf named Njokki this morning (yes, it's pronounced "Gnocchi" laugh.gif), so he may be running around instead. Tried an undead warlock last night, but that lasted about five minutes...it'll probably take time for me to get the hang of WoW magic, having been spoiled by MapleStory and Oblivion's instant casting unsure.gif And, after this weekend, I'll revert to those too, so expect some withdrawal whinging from me laugh.gif

By the by, I noticed that Scryers is an RPG server -- how strict is that? Because I pretty much roleplay automatically anyway. My playing mantra is WWMCD -- "what would my character do" happy.gif

I am with you there - I just cannot make myself use a gun in WoW.

Warlocks are very difficult to run for a beginner. They can really so some damage though. It's rather like having a mage who has a pet like a hunter.

RP servers are not strict at all. They mainly just want you to have a reasonably appropriate name for your character. But RP is great fun.
