So now that we have a few different codexes around I'm wondering which is best used to represent each legion?

I ask really as I am trying to come up with a World Eaters list and find myself torn between Codex: Space Wolves or Blood Angels, both give me an assault orientated army but I cant decide which would better suit the WE.

So I thought maybe we could get a list going on what Codex should be used to represent certain Legions.

What do you think?

It really depends what you want your army to look like.

You can easily use any space marine codex to make a PH/HH army, as the Legions were much larger and had more roles (eg: siege companies, recon companies, etc) than their 40k counterparts.

Using C:SW you get a more useful troop unit and you can have terminator sergeants (Iron Hands), or an all veteran army, but your assault squad option is worse. C:BA is great for an assault company or mechanised company (rhinos, predators or land raiders).

I'm using C:BA for my post-Istvaan Raven Guard, but it would be perfectly possible to use the others too.

What time frame are your World Eaters going to be?

C:BA could do a great assault-heavy army (in rhinos or land raiders for max fluff) and death company could be proto-berserkers. Same with dreadnoughts. Include Astorath for maximum savagery!

Timeframe I'm looking at is sortof mid crusade, Angron's been with them for a while so they are starting to take on more the berserker nature but with a number of "veterans" who have shunned the butchers nails implants.

I am leaning more towards C:BA as like you say I can use Death Company for bersekers and throw in a DC Dread to really add punch!

I vote C:BA - that's what I use for my PH World Eaters. To me, C:BA says "all-out assault, with a marked tendency toward violent lunacy," as opposed to C:SW, which I see as "really capable infantry with customisable terminators and guys riding monstrous steeds."
