Hey, I first posted these in my Guardians of Terra blog but as this is a different project I thought I'd start a new blog.

In an effort to make my Dark Angels a little more hard hitting I've decided to put together a Custidian squad. Rayziel is helping me get my DA legal which leaves my limited free time to get these guys done.

I hope to get 10 done if I can get the parts but if not I will definately get 5 ready.
The biggest challenge has been parts sourcing as each one requires parts from the Command frame, Sanguinary Guard, Captain, Tactical, Chaos vehicle sprue, Grey Knights and Scibor's Custom heads.

Anyway here are my Custodians so far

The next test is to try and paint gold, for which I will follow the tutorial in the this months WD.

I was hoping you'd post up the results of the scibor heads!

Looks great, I'm hope you don't mind me taking a couple of your ideas to use with my own upccoming project (I hope to have an army for the grey knight codex update many are expecting in Q1)

Exactly my plan, an army of the bad boys for the expected codex. Hoping the new GK plastics will offer good conversion potential!

Any idea how many you'll have to make? Im thinking 40 for 2k pts but that's based off my 1k sons 2k list (which comes to about 50+ marines.)

I'm going for about 20 custodians with Guardian Spears, 10 or so terminators and some dreadnoughts.

Cheers Hero! Gotta love the Custodes! Wish shroud would let me use my Emperor tho lol

Here's a rough parts list:

Legs - Sanguinairy Guard
Front Torso - Sanguinairy Guard
Back Torso - Captain
Pads - Champion
Head - Scibor
Spear - Nemisis force halbard, SG Axe, Command Bolter, Chaos spike and High elf spear.

Got parts to make the next 2 shall I do a tutorial?

Yes! Please do, I'd love to see the work in progress work. Also, some pictures of the back would be great.

Nice work!

Flying Rhino would be good, or maybe the fancy Land Raider?

There are several different styles of flying Rhino in Collected Visions.

I'm considering making one (at some point) with two sets of land speeder engine nozzles on the back (vertical side by side), land speeder fins, land speeder air intakes on the top, drop pod fans for lift units and a hatch on the underneath (since it will be on a flying base and there won't be room for a hatch on the back).

My plan is a Rhino with Sanguinary guard packs as the side thrusters and the engine from the Master of the Ravenwing in each side. Speeder fins and a Shed load of eagles!
