Ok I was up the other night thinking how iconic landraiders are to SM armies and how I've never actually fielded one before mainly because I saw them as a massive point sink that'll end up shot to scrap. I then got to thinking about how I always seem to be intimidated by them when someone places one onto the board in a 1500pt game.

I had an idea, 1500 point games today are all about balanced lists. You can't sink too many points into anything as it will detract from your overall balance. Taking thee landraiders in 1500 points also seems stupid because thats half of your points total and will become giant bullet magnets and the other 750 points needs a safe way of getting to where they need to be without fear of the landraider being blown up and them being left out in the open with thier pants down foot-slogging the rest of the way...

Unless.....

They descend from the sky spitting out a hail of bullets and fire that is wink.gif

So with that in mind I came up with this list...

Librarian:
Wearing Terminator Armour
Carrying a Storm Shield
Using Sanguine Sword and Blood Lance

Sanguinary Priest 1:
Wearing Terminator Armour

Sanguinary Priest 2:
Wearing Terminator Armour

Assault Squad 1:
10 Assault Marines
Landraider Redeemer Transport

Assault Squad 2:
10 Assault Marines
Landraider Redeemer Transport

Assault Squad 3:
10 Assault Marines
Landraider Redeemer Transport

TOTAL 1500

Like I said this list is my way of making up for never using a landraider before and to unsettle opponents who, like myself, are intimidated by those adamantium hulks. This list is not for competative gaming (I already have a list for that).

The only reason I've given the Librarian and the priests terminator armour is just because it's something different to model rather than the countless power armoured assault marines that I've built over the last few months.

So comments, critism, facepalms they're all welcome and they're all appreciated smile.gif

Do it... for the lulz!

No seriously, no army opens itself up better to horrifying, unbalanced abuse than the new BAs... and just seeing that on the table will be worth it tongue.gif

I say go for it, and hang the conventions! Warhammer's still a game right? Games are about having fun! tongue.gif

I'd change 2 land raiders to regular ones and cut 2 RAS to 8. biggrin.gif To have some more anti-tank.
