As promised, here is a basic photography guide. I recommend you download the PDF here for better resolution pictures and easier reference.

If anyone would like a PC/Mac copy of Photoshop to learn the basics, please PM me.

Thanks Shroud ,I never though of the simple setup you have with the camera just sitting on the desk.
Just doing that I think has helped me some.
But I need a new camera I can reduce my flash but not shut it off entirely with the one I have ATM

Hello! I've been thinking about putting some images up but I can't figure out how to get them onto the forum. I tried looking at a tutorial but it just confused me, any handy hints for non mechanicum adepts?
... and for those who aren't adept in general? huh.gif

So you've now got your photos but are wondering how to get them on your favourite forum.

What you need is a hosting site.
This is a site that you load your photos onto. Simple!

There are a couple, and I'm sure many members of this fine forum will be able to provide you with recommendations. Or you could just right click on a picture and see what site it's from.

I personally use Photobucket.

So you sign on with a site, then what.
You uplaod your photos. And away you go. Right?

Not quite. It's a good idea to check your settings on the site and see whether your uploads will be private or public. If set to private then no casual surfer can look at them and there may be problems with other users seeing on the forum they are posted to.

Now to actually get them on the forum you will need the text link for it. On photobucket a list of these appear when your cursor is over the picture.
There'll be a direct link, a html link, a [img] link, etc, etc....

Each one is suitable for different sites. Luckily the img one works on here.
So then all you need to do is copy this link and paste in a post.

If you check Preview you can see if the link has worked before you commit to posting.

That any help?

I made this video a while ago - I will do a new version at some point soon, without the crappy watermark.
