| QUOTE (Vinnie @ Aug 8 2012, 09:15 PM) | Small niggle... but the placing of that title banner blew my mind for a second. If you don't immediately notice there's a chair there (like I didn't), ol' chap Mal looks about two feet tall :S |
Damn you Vinnie, now I can't look at that picture without imagining The Sigilite as some kind of evil Dwarf | QUOTE | | Just an opinion (based on no evidence), but would the Emperor allow one of his sons to kill another son or even his legion? |
It's been strongly hinted at in a couple of the books, specifically Prospero Burns and A Thousand Sons. Not as strongly hinted as 'Blood Ravens come from Thousand Sons gene-stock' or 'Flo-Jo was on steroids', but nevertheless is probably what happened when you add all of the various bits of pieces together. And, how Abnett 're-wrote' the Space Wolves in Prospero Burns. But no, I don't think we will ever find out full information about II and XI (other than one of the Primarchs was called Malibron, of course ) What's the issue with the big 'I' in his hand by the way? Not sure that I follow..

| QUOTE (Markus Krell @ Aug 8 2012, 08:28 PM) | Just an opinion (based on no evidence), but would the Emperor allow one of his sons to kill another son or even his legion? If Russ did previously do this, what did the Emperor expect would happen when he sent him to Prospero? We know that Horus tricked Russ en route, but what would Magnus be expected to do when he sees the Space Wolves descending from the sky.
Would it make more sense that several legions were involved in the destruction of a fellow legion? Could the two primarchs still be alive, in stasis? |
the lost legions might not even have been destroyed if the (rather ambiguous) hints in The First Heretic are anything to go by...

Surely Imperial Health & Safety has something to say about a man carrying around a lit torch all day!! Where's his fire-proof glove or his protective glasses? Shame on you BL, encouraging kids to play with fire You wouldn't find someone running around London with a lit torch... oh wait, I forgot about that torch!! Personally, I don't think GW/BL/FW will ever, ever say what happened to the missing legions... just look what one tiny piece of artwork has done to everyone in 3 days!! I think the 'I' is I for Imperium, but note that there is a small 'eye' shaped into the 'I' which is the Emperor's eye, so Malcador has combined both into his badge of office... and when he salutes the Emperor, he goes "aye" and when he acknowlesges Him, he goes "aye, aye"!! Can anyone tell that I don't want to do any work today?!!

Given what we already know of the Sigillite, I bet he REALLY wanted to have Lorgar killed after Monarchia! Malcy: "Please let me have him killed!" Emp: "No. I have told him off, so now he will be a good boy."Malcy: "But he HIT me!" Emp: "Nope."Malcy: "I can take care of it. I know someone, who knows someone. Just like before..." Emp: "Still no."Malcy: "But I want another SKULL for my throne!!!" Emp: "No ...wait, what?!"

I hope I'll get my hands on this when it comes out, although I think I might be the only one who doesn't want too much info on the lost legions, just lots of mystery!
