Thought this section was lacking in a few pics so here goes. Shroud modelled all these guys for me and I painted them up. Then he came across this cracking figure who turned out to be just the right scale (i.e. a few mm taller than a marine) and just the right look to be a good Fulgrim. I did him up here in the gold cloak and purple armour described in his meeting with the Eldar from the Fulgrim novel. Although I am a little dissapointed with the face (its supposed to be the garish make-up job he's done himself up as) I wanted to try and capture him on the brink of turning to the dark side!

Now before everyone slates it, I know my purple is too dark for some peoples taste but I had always imagined the EC to look a lot more imposing than the bunch of pink armoured wimps! I have gone for imperial roman style purple armour as I always imagined in their corruption the armour lightened to the pink colour associated with Slaaneshi sensuousness. Again this is why Fulgrims armour is highlighted in more pinky tones than the rest of the guys, who are basically just highlighted in Imperial Purple + Skull White

Heres the rest of the bunch with Tarvitz. The gold I's on his banner were done before it was written in that he wasn't actually first company captain (another little job to do!)

Very nice. Personally I prefer the darker purples for Emperor's Children.

What did you use for Fulgrim?

You would have to ask Shroud that one. Could be one of the Reaper miniatures range, i think.

It is indeed a Reaper mini, I'm not sure what the name is though.

I converted the arm and shoulder pad quite extensively and scratchbuilt an EC logo for it... hey Titus, get a closeup of that emblem posted - it's my finest EC work to date! biggrin.gif

Ah well I'll just see how well the Archaon on foot model fits in size wise for Fulgrim. If he's too small I'll use a True Scale Marine to represent him - the size difference should be good enough.

The mini used for Fulgrim is this:

Ulern Anti-Paladin

I also quite like these minis from the reaper range but not quite sure what i could use them as or how they scale up in comparison to marines?:

I'd say:

1st: Has been suggested as a basis for the Lion.

2nd: Would only really fit as Sanguinius...

3rd: Put me in mind of Fulgrim actually, though with some conversion to those wings, could be Konrad Cruze.

Haha, I also have the 2nd and 3rd sat in my bits box... they were both prospective Fulgrims! biggrin.gif

Not seen the first one before though - very cool! Definitely Lion-y.

Now that´s an interesting mini for Fulgrim. Nice one! Though IMHO he looks a bit fragile. I´m sure he´s supposed to be more slender as say Russ or Angron, but still he´s a bit too 'thin' for my taste.

With the Overlord, you could cut it off just below the shoulderguards (just above the belly) then bulk him out a bit with a new set of legs, etc...
