I was thinking a bout making an IA unit, when I realised, that I don't know about any units. I would like to make an Old 100 unit from Merica (75th Rangers anyone?). Just a thought but help would be appreciated.

We don't know much about the Old Hundred unfortunately. We do have a few titbits though, apart from (obviously) a fair bit of info about the Geno 5:2 Chilead.

The Lucifer Blacks were another Age of Strife regiment, but their strength was so depleted by the last stages of the Unification Wars that they were unable to continue as a full regiment and were instead used as bodyguards for high ranking officers (from Legion, which specifically states their involvement in the Unification wars and mentions Dinas Chayne's 'late Strife Era' regimental insignia). The fact they were unable to continue as a full regiment presumably means they are not counted as one of the 'Old Hundred'.

We can also probably assume that the Byzant Janizars and the Sidthu Barat are members of the Old Hundred. Legion states that the Lucifer Blacks are 'an Ischian-raised elite brigade as old and celebrated as the Byzant Janizars or the Sidthu Barat', and seeing as the Lucifer Blacks were around in the Age of Strife then it follows those two regiments were as well, and thus are part of the 'Old Hundred' (unless they were raised from planets other than Terra, but the fact they are 'celebrated' to the same degree as the Terran Lucifer Blacks suggests they are Terran in origin).

As for any 'Old Hundred' regiments from Merica, we don't have any canon confirmation as far as I know. However, background on the Macharian Crusade mentions the 'Merican Fusiliers' as one of the Imperial Guard regiments serving in Solar Macharius' own army group, along with, coincidentally enough, the Byzant Janizars. Its certainly possible they were one of the Old Hundred, given their Terran origin and the prestige implied by their inclusion in the personal army group of the Lord Commander Solar.

Dude, that was some great information there, thanks. I like how people at this board actually help people with questions, now I'll probably make a Merican Regiment for 40k, thanks. smile.gif

I would think any unit that travels the crusade part of the Old 100
I have made the 1st Merican Lancers(Big Red One) for my guard unit
here are a couple pics
75th Rangers would be good for the new elysian stuff that comes out.

The thing is that not all IA units were Old 100 Units. smile.gif

Hmmm.. Ideas, ideas. biggrin.gif BTW, the Elysians aren't going to be happening any time soon. Maybe around christmas, but not right now. Cadian models are probably going to be used.

Guys, I've started work on the army. They will be the Merican Expeditionary Force. I f you are wondering what they will look like, imagine the American Combat Uniform of WWI.

This will be the list:

HQ

Command Squad 140 pts

Plasma Pistol
Power Sword
Master of Ordanance
Vox-Caster
Grenade Launcher
Medic

Elite

John Basilone (Marbo Count-as) 65 pts

Troops

Veteran Squad (82nd Droptroops) 180 pts
Plasma Gun
Vox Caster
Sgt. Bastonne
Grenadiers

Veteran Squad (1st Force Recon) 165 pts
Flamer
Vox-caster
Forward Sentries
Sgt. Harker

Heavy Support

Leman Russ Eradicator 215 pts
Lascannon
Heavy Bolters
Heavy Stubber
Hunterkiller Missle

765 Pts

Its not much, but its a start.

I reckon you should make them the army rangers, like put the insignia on their shoulderpads and stuff.

Also good list but at 750pts the eradicator is not neccessary maybe just a normal battle tank
Cheers

Maybe I will change the tank to a regular MBT, than again... Executioners got a lot of use in the crusae, maybe I'll add that.

@MrBojab, I plan on puttimg unit insignia on their shoulder. WWII era star roundel on the right shoulder pad, and a Red One/ White 82/ Green 1 on their left.
