So let's kick this thing off then shall we.

as I said in the introduction, I'm corrently working on some fanatics (though not so much like the other Word Bearers...I really need to get that fluff done ASAP.... dry.gif )

So anyway. At first I give you, the heart and sould of the Paladins of the Truth:

Chaplain Uzara (might cahnge the name.... dry.gif )

My painting skills really don't do this mini justice.... :/

So this is actually the Kabuki Models Preacher Knight, with a swaped head (actaully it's a replaced head, since the box I got didn't have one... blink.gif ). And yes, my photograpic skillz suck too tongue.gif

Anyway, he will count as none other then Erebus (I'm using the Tempes Fugitives Age of the Emperor characters and points).

Then, on to the Sternguard:

Alright, and before you send out the lynch mob on me because of the =][= symbols, let me explain. As I remember reading that all of the Word Bearer Chapter had their own traditions and symbols and such (with Legion colours being the cosistant), I used that so the symbols actaully reffer to I and/or T of the Imperial Truth. Okay? *lynched*

And don't pester me about the bases either, I just can't make them look nay better then that biggrin.gif Over at MWG one guy thretherned that his monitor would sleep with the fishes if I didn't do something about the base of chpalin in Termie armour for my original SM army.... blink.gif

I'll be adding pictures as I get things done, but curretnly I'm working on something for a YouTube competition (by TemplarCrusader01, TubeBKG and MarneusAugustaCalgar) so we'll see what I'm able to do wink.gif And then there's the whole conversion job I need to do with the Power Armours...*sigh* Whelp, at least I got green stuff at hand.....

Uzara looks nice, good posing. Very Word Bearery. And good use of the Grey Knight parts for the sternguard, wouldn't have thought of that.

I would really redo the cloak on the Chaplain the rest of him is really good the cloak kills it.
I would paint it Mecharius Red washed with Baal Red then using only Iyanden Darksun paint the flames here is a simple flame tutorial I found on Heresy Online that works well for me when I paint LotD

http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6011

To paint really nice script like on purity seals take scorched brown and black 50/50 and thin it downa little more than usual
Then instead of painting lines, paint dots and dashes in lines shapes
Use a light touch.
Try to imagine each dot and dash are words in the sentence.

Love to see more Bearers of the Word pop up,keep em coming

Woohoo! More Word Bearers! biggrin.gif

Out of interest, can you put a normal space marine next to the Preacher Knight for me? I've been really keen to see a proper size comparison for ages...

Very interesting tutorial, I'll have to use that. And this was my first time painting flames so it was a sort of an experiment wink.gif and I'll look into the purity seals too, though honestly I kinda rushed those with these guys. I need to make that competiton thing (already started), and I'm curretnly restricted on night paint-jobs... :/

But that's enough excuses, thanks for the advice, and hopefully I can start converting some Tactical Marines with Mark IV armour biggrin.gif

ShroudFilm: I do have this:

Unfortuantely I left him standing on that huge base of his (I now do have a normal height one), so I'll have to take a better comparison picture, but hopefully that's a start :/ Currently without a camera (again), so it might be a while before I can take the pic. Sorry ninja.gif

Don't worry about it dude, you're doing a much better job than some English people!

Cool start to your WBs, nice use of the GK bits. They really set the tone of the models. Look forward to seeing more smile.gif

I think those shoulder pads work quite well, considering they are a product of lazy-atta-.....errrr, I mean, sudden inspiration, yeah that's it *cough* ninja.gif

They are from two different bitz from Scibor Miniatures Science Fiction Accessories Set II :

The torso came from GK Draigo, and the arms are left over lightining claws from SM Assault Terminators pack, and the head is from BA Sanguinary Guard. THe top knot is from a very old FaBa Orc.

Just incase any of you wondered wink.gif tongue.gif

Now, back to fighting with myself on what type of armour I want to give the rest of my army. A mix of Crusade and Iron or all out Iron or Maximus....hmmmmm unsure.gif

Whelp, after a rather long hiatus, I finally got back to painting and modelling a bit.

Firstly my Wolf Priest (which oddly enough I intend to count as Ragnar Blackmane):

And my Discipline Master/Commisar for my Pre-Heresy Imperial Army (I used the Warmachine Khador Supreme Commandant Irusk, and I'll use him as a count as Yarrick)

I suppose I could have taken a better picture of the banner, which indeed does have an Aquila (sorta kinda) free-handed to it, and on top of it there's a small Aquila from a vehicle sprue...I think. Also, I don't know why that "power fist" (nicked from Mantic Games Corporation Commander) looks so blurry in that image...

Now, off to getting some more black spray paints and get my Thunderwolf Cavalry ready...or should I finish painting the Kabuki Space Napoleon and get onto the Corporate Commander...hmmmm....

Allright, so to celebrate the fact that I got my own Limited Edition Dark Vengeance, here's a pic of my DA Chaplain:

user posted image

For some reason the helmet just didn't do it for me, so I dusted off some spare FaBa parts that I have (initially I wanted to use a GK head with the leather...what do you call it...hood or whatever it is, but I can't find the damn sprue anywhere!). After a little while I found my Empire General kit, and I've always loved the head with the eye patch, and in my opinion, it fits perfectly with this model. tongue.gif

Now, I'm posting this on my blog instead of starting a new Off Topic thread, mostly because I plan on making the DA (and CSM) "Heresy era", or something like that. I have some story ideas that I inted to incorporate to the rather lengthy and, dare I say, extensive fluff I'm writing around my soon to some Imperial Army force, that form the basis of 777th Expeditionary Fleet, nicknamed "Tough Lucks". Yeah, I have ambitions on this one wink.gif

Well, back to building more of these guys...

Alright, between drooling and weeping blood over the new Heresy stuff from FW, I managed to get one of those Torin Mech Suits from Scibor. All I can really say is that it's MASSIVE.

A comparison shot with the Hellbrute

And one of the Dark Angels added for flavour

user posted image

I'm using the "Iron Giant" helmet on it for now, though I intend to replace it with something, once I figure out what it could be....

And also, as you can see, I've made some extra additions to the Hellbrute (finally some use for those Chaos Knights bits) biggrin.gif

And as I realized that I have a working, and somewhat co-operative, camera, I went ahead and took some extra pix of the stuff that I have. So, here's some WIP (painting wise) Legio Custodes:

And just to show that I haven't thrown away my Word Bearers either, here's the banner (the bearer is badly WIP, I fear....)

So yeah, that's about it for this time. I've undercoated the Dark Angels and Chaos Marines, so I think I'll paint those up at some point (I also green stuffed the Mark VII helmets a bit to make them more believable as Heresy Era Angels...)

'Till next update!

I've been wondering what I should do with the Dark Vengeance Librarian, as the rest of the force is going to Heresy era (with slightly green stuffed helmets), when amad moment of inspiration struck me.

I should paint it up as a Pre-Heresy Thousand Son!

So, here's some WIP pics:

I got the helmet from the Thunderwolves sprue (that themselves are already assembled but unpainted...). All I've otherwise done is painted the armor and cloak, and the Legion symbol. I'll see if I can get it finished by the weekend and then move on to the rest. Should be fun biggrin.gif

Alright, I finished the Thousand Sons Librarian (wanna-be). Well, the base is still not done, but meh. rolleyes.gif

And no, I didn't forget the face, I intentionally left it like that. I think it nicely adds the feel of mystery about him. There are some minor details, like the psychic hood, that I might have redone or removed. Maybe some day, but for now he's good enough for a table I think.

I'm also almost done with the Dark Angels Tactical Squad and the Terminators need just a bit more work so I should finish those soon enough. The Chaos boys only have the red undercoat for now, but I'll get to them...

My camera hand was unfortunately a bit shaky...

BTW, the writing on his shoulder pads isn't random. His left pad says: "Space.Wolves.Vlka.Fenryka" and right one "Terra.Leman.Russ.Fenris".

Just though you might want to know biggrin.gif

Also, the DreamForge Games Kickstarter pledge manager reached me today, and with all of that done I should be getting a very interesting big package next month. I've also started to work on the Wargames Factory Storm Troopers into my Imperial Army. Pics once I have some painted examples...
