Title: crusade company

Rogal Dorn - January 21, 2008 08:00 PM (GMT)
i have loads of black templars ferom when i used to play them and i dont want to change the shoulderpads(i used plastic cement). so would it be legal if i painted them like Fists and made fist iconography, but used the black templars rules for my pre-heresy 3rd company under Sigismund?

The main problem with M41 marines as PH is the helmets...

You can probably get away with the maltese cross BT icon as a campaign/company badge for the IF though.

Rogal Dorn - January 22, 2008 12:41 AM (GMT)
ive got all GW mk 4 helms on them from the BT upgrade kits....and several cruade helms. few of them are mk7

I figure that at least some of the original Legion would have used a red fist or the cross as iconography pre-Herest--the symbols for the successor chapters, I think, would probably have come from a company using that iconography who were among the original Imperial Fists used to create the new Chapter.

Brother Tiriel - January 22, 2008 12:58 AM (GMT)
From what I can remember, the BT icon and Heraldry was Sigismund personnal one, right?
So indeed, I see no reason why the company he was leading should were at least this heraldry on a kneecap/shoulderpas/banner.

As long as they're still yellow, with Imperial Fist iconography on it too :P

Rogal Dorn - January 22, 2008 02:31 AM (GMT)
cool....and it would be the 10th/scouts that would sue a red fist as it was the newest members who formed the crimson fists

Rogal Dorn - January 22, 2008 07:16 AM (GMT)
ive decided for the 3rd company command squad will be dressed similarly to Sigismund(pics to come soon). im getting ancy with my own anticipation...i must get it done soon lol

So it would be safe to say for the Fists that for the different Co's in the fists
like Sigismund's and the Capt that started the crimson fists, They could use
that as their Co, Iconography?(By the way who did start the Crimson fists? What
was thir first Chapter Master?I know for the Templars it was Sigismund?)Any ideas?
:)

Just a thought, Sigismund was the First Captain of the IF's - would that not mean he would lead the first company not the third?
Cool ideas for everything else tho'.

Rogal Dorn - January 22, 2008 11:08 PM (GMT)
ive gotta do third, my first company is already finished and is lead by Vladimir Pugh, Grenveich, and Lo Chang. and the 3rd company by current fluff is the company most like the templars anyway

Cotidie - January 23, 2008 01:13 AM (GMT)
Back in the previous edition when the Emps Champ was released as a special edition mini i.e. the older Juan Diaz scuplt (cannot for the life of me remember what it was in celebrating, 500 stores perhaps?) there was fluff in the accompanying WD that pieced together a lil' of Sigismund's history, and just basically explained that he was a compnay captain who was chosen to fight man-o-a-mano with "The Corrupted Champions of Chaos" i.e. aspiring champions and the like, and as such, his armour was painted black to mark him out in the Big Guy's eyes (similar to Chaplains) as different from the rest of the Fists fighting in the Palace.

I'm not sure if this has been retconned in the current HH fluff, but perhaps it's not a huge leap to think that some of his troops, particularly his immediate spearhead/retinue might have "adopted" his heraldry in the closing stages of the Siege/when they formed the breakaway Templars.

Sorry if this is all a a bit irrelevant, just thought you might like my two cents!

Oh just outta curiosity, from IA:Imperials Fists, Pugh and Chang aren't active Pre-Heresy, or is this new army not all Pre-Heresy? I'm not being a fluff-Nazi...before I get shouted down, just wondered! :)

PS I've had a soft spot for the Templars since the 3rd Ed and Codex:Armageddon, they may have been a broken list, but I had so many good games with my black and white knights!!! So Kudos if you keep a company of them in this next project!

Rogal Dorn - January 23, 2008 01:29 AM (GMT)
no vladimir and them are not pre-heresy, my 1st comp only 30 terminators are pre-heresy(dont havet hem quite finished yet), im not doing my entire chapter pre-heresy. and thanks for the fuff, it will spur me on to finish my 3rd

The Bane of Angels - January 27, 2008 02:14 AM (GMT)
You could make any models like that members of the First Company who were called Templars although the only true way they were different was the black shoulder pad trims.

Rogal Dorn - January 27, 2008 05:41 AM (GMT)
yes but im just goin with what i have atm

Sigismund's_Heir - June 23, 2008 07:32 PM (GMT)
Hi guys, am also considering doing a Sigismund and retinue. Was looking for some pics for inspiration but as yet have bewen unable to finds any. Does anyone know of any where?

I know that the templars under Sigismund used his personal heraldry for their colour scheme during the second founding but would like to get the right mix of IF and BT colours right.

Rogal Dorn - June 23, 2008 07:43 PM (GMT)
i have a model of sigismund, ill post some pics for u

Sigismund's_Heir - June 24, 2008 01:02 PM (GMT)
That would be great thanks. Have just listened to the dark king and lightning tower audio book, so have been inspired to get this project off the ground as have finished all my Templar stuff that I have so far. :D

ShroudFilm - June 24, 2008 01:28 PM (GMT)
Is it just me or does Danny Webb's voice for Curze get deeper and more melodramatic as he goes on? I reckon he was drunk when reading it...

Sigismund's_Heir - June 26, 2008 04:14 PM (GMT)
Having listened to it again I dop believe you are right sir. Maybe he was going for the "anguish of Knowing how and when you're going to die" angle or maybe he'd had too much "pop". :P

ShroudFilm - June 26, 2008 04:33 PM (GMT)
I reckon he was shy when he started recording...
