Description: Are Packing Heat

Well since the AL are the new Legion, is it reasonable to assume that they are more well suppllied with newer equipment and weaponry than the pother Legions..
If so what would be more prevalent within an AL army?

If that were the case, then MkIV would be most prevalent, as that was the standard issue armour towards the end of the Crusade. In Legion, one of the members is described as having the newest design with a helmet shaped like a dog's muzzle (not a direct quote).

Yeah... is that the beaky? or something else?

Wait! So i can bbasicly just order Red Scorpion sprues for all my pre heresy goodness.
Weiss - March 13, 2008 11:09 AM (GMT)
Pretty much, though it does double the cost of them. Another method is to use any assault marine torsos you haven't used, carve off the edges of the chest eagles then just green stuff that smooth breastplate in their place (it also helps if you cut down the belt buckle as well).

What about weaponry... Is there anything I can and cant use?
Weiss - March 13, 2008 11:43 AM (GMT)
Assault Cannons were experimental, so would be severely limited (unless you're dirty Blood Angels). Terminators used Reaper Autocannons instead.
Multi-meltas were more often mounted on vehicles
Same with plasma cannons, I believe.
Vindicators were created at the start of the Heresy
Just about anything else goes.

isnt there some sabre tooth art with Death Guard toting Plasma Cannons?
Weiss - March 13, 2008 01:23 PM (GMT)
Yup, there's also art of power-armoured space wolves toting assault cannons...
A fair few of the artists were spoons when it came to going by the fluff... Don't worry about the plasma cannon or multi-melta in my opinion, there's only likely to be one or two in a single army unless they're being cheesy..

Consider them prototypes of regular M41 weapons, just try to use rules for stuff that WOULD have been around in a "counts-as" capacity.
And easy on the Legion spoilers... my copy is in the post today, apparently... :D

It wasn't a spoiler man, I didn't tell you who was wearing the armour... ;)
