Title: Alternative epic minis

Hey guys,

Oh, I wish I had known about these guys before I paid a ridiculous amount of money on some half-used Squat sprues on ebay!

It's a company called Steel Crown, and they make a bunch of 6mm sci-fi stuff, a lot of which could probably be used for Epic Armageddon. Very reasonably priced, I've only had a quick look but it seems like they have stuff that could count as IG, Squats and Necrons to name but 3.

Well worth a look in any case I reckon if you're building an epic force

Here are some pics from the range:

Ah, thanks Pacific I had meant to post this link:
Epic proxy list to the Forum; it should come in handy for people looking for alternative miniatures.

It's a big list of links to specific models, with suggestions for proxy use.

Ah great thanks for that mate!

Do you have any idea how well the Guild Centurion Myrmidons would sub in for SM sergeants? They have them for 20p each so was thinking of getting a couple of quids worth just to add some variety to the bolter guys. I believe the centre ones on each stand in this pic:

Also found they have epic bases on there, 16 for 2. Again lucky I found that before getting stung by ebay, or the GW site for that matter (3 for 4 of them! user posted image

Here is the link for anyone else who needs some bases:

I've ordered a bunch of the sergeant-esque minis, and also some of the Exodus Wars space Dwarves, will post after Xmas with the results!

In the meantime don't suppose anyone knows of any alternatives to some of the Squat War Engines? I would love a Land Train or Overlord Airship, but refuse to give a certain swine/ebay shark (who seemingly buys everything and then re-lists it at x3 price) 60 quid for them! :D

Really looking forward to seeing the exodus dudes :D do need some sergeants that aren't all standing there gormless with no helmet!

As far as epic squat stuff, as you may have noticed i come across a lot of random loads of old warhammer in my travels, so i'll keep you in mind if i come across any space dwarf goodness!

Regarding Squat war engines, it might be worth asking on the TacComms trade forum, or Warseer. The squats weren't particularly rare (v. popular in Epic), and the War Engines are fairly common. I'll keep an eye out.

+ Edit +

Here's a thread that might prove fruitful

For an alternative, Troublemaker Games British Land Frigate would make a good Land Train:

10mm, but I think it'd work nicely, and six for 14 sounds good to me!

Liking the tactical command forums. signed up, waiting on approval now :D be handy to raid the trade forums and stare at pretty things for inspiration!

And i might get some beads on some rather awesome vehicles/robots i could use as guard tanks or mars warhounds! :P
