I'm sure I read Isstvan 5 was covered with black sand.
Is this right?

Not sure myself but that's how I've always pictured it. Hopefully someone with a Ecopy will be able to search it

Do you think they had Aegis Defence Lines, Bastions, Fortresses Of Redemption, and the new Wall Of Martyrs available for the conflict?
Wolf Lord Mjolnir - October 27, 2012 08:57 PM (GMT)
Everything except for the fortress of redemption. I can imagine the second wave of traitors setting up aegis and barbed wire lines when they deployed.

In the novel "Fulgrim" it mentions that the Phoenician supervised the vast teams of Dark Mechanicus earthmovers as they shifted the black sand of Isstvan V and formed a vast network of earthworks, trenches, bunkers and redoubts that stretched along the ridge of the Urgall Plateau.
