Title: Forge World eye lenses
Description: their artwork

I'm a bit puzzled by the way FW show eye lenses in their artwork.

I'm guessing the stripe across the lenses is meant to be a horizon line, but whenever I look at the pics, I initially see sunken eyes glowering out from under the upper edges of the eye sockets. Then I see them as insectoid eyes.

What do you all see?

Aye it's puzzling isn't it?

I guess it's just their way of showing a 3D reflective object in a 2D format.

I see the top, whiter stripe as the eyes at first glance.

As an aside, I'm really digging the mixed black and green colour schemes, shown here and on the terminators and predator. Although the red pauldron (and yellow eyes) make it a little busy IMHO. Can't wait to find out who this guy is! No jumppack so probably not a Catulan Reaver. 1st company Justaerin in power armour?

OOh or are they trying to blend in/explain all the picures in Collected Visions of grey/black Sons of Horus with some new fluff, maybe more of the Legion wore black before they became the Black Legion....?

Just artistic licence on the shine, but I see what you mean where if you added pupils it would look like a cool ass lenseless mask

I can see just what your saying with regards to the helm looking lensless. I had a quick look through the Badab books to see if any of the lenses are depicted like this but I came up with nothing. Forgeworld tend to be pretty good at making reflective surfaces look just that but this seems to be a purposeful attempt to suggest something different, what that something is I don't know.
