Title: Tempus Fugitives: Age of the Emperor Expansion
Description: 6th Edition Update

Hey guys,

Just saw this on another forum, a 6th edition update to the Tempus Fugitives 'Age of the Emperor' rules. These are in beta form, prior to an event coming up in May of next year I believe.

http://www.tempusfugitives.co.uk/pdf/40k/A...20Expansion.pdf

Some pretty neat looking stuff in there, and looks like they have really gone to town with the wargear and vehicle options.

As I've lived away for the last couple of years sadly I missed out on a lot of the Tempus Fugitive events. Did anyone go to them, and what were they like?

I remember going to one of the other events (the 2nd one?) with other members of TGC and it was great fun! Magnus 'breaking Russ's back over one knee' being a particular thing I remember! Also, not heeding the warning to take a Primarch and being repeatedly reminded of that point during the games :D

In any case it might be worthwhile to start thinking about next years event, and if anyone is going to be attending it? Perhaps putting together some kind of team TGC as before, especially if people still have their T-shirts? :)

I haven't been to any since they stopped holding them at WHW, and I didn't take part in #4 because I couldn't make the first morning.

To be honest, TGC attendance at AOTE has dropped right off - a couple of the Tamworth guys still go, I think? - since we held our first storyline events of our own.

But I ceased all work on the "official TGC pre-Heresy ruleset" when I found out about Forgeworld's book. I just wondered the other day how long it would be before AOTE was no longer a novelty?

Unless they go to another historical era, ignoring the FW stuff and continuing to produce their own version is likely to only have negative effects on attendance, except from the hardcore TF regulars.

So is the Reign of Blood the new Heresy?
Hmmmm.

Been to quite a few, they keep making their rules set better and better with Primarks now being more balanced and less of a no brainer and interesting rule ideas to try and encourage fluffy armies and veer away from power gaming.

And Stu (the guy who runs them) has plans to make it run parallel to the Forge World rules set though obviously he hasn't had access to it yet and as such doesn't know how possible that will be.

Going to their event in 2 weeks in fact, the first 40k (as opposed to 30k) one I've been to since I started going 4-5 years ago.

@Pacific - I'm planning on attending next year and went to some of the previous events with the last expansion and helping with the development of the current, as are many other forum visitors both there and from here too.

I believe the plan is for it to dovetail with the FW books as an alternative ruleset for their events that also gel with the 'official' rules that FW will be producing.

There are a number of things in there that are quite quirky and actually give a different way of putting an army together, plus of course the legendary points & (new for 6th ed) legendary actions systems that are similar to the might/heroic actions from LotR in a sense.

I know that there's a few peeps from here that do still attend these and other TF events - I'm rooming with 'horn for the 40k event in a fortnight :D

EDIT - ninja'd by Ahriman - and good to see another face that will be there too :D

I'll be attending the event in may, am building a pre-heresy Vlka Fenrika company at the moment.
