Found a link to this Q&A between Dan Abnett and 'Shadowhawk' on another site.
http://www.thebolthole.org/blog/2012/04/16...bnett/#more-647

What's interesting is the bit below the pic of Know No Fear.

QUOTE
Dan: Next for me is The Unremembered Empire, which is a direct sequel to Know No Fear and takes the Ultramarines (the survivors) back to Macragge. Then again, Aaron’s (Dembski-Bowden) Betrayer is also a direct sequel to KNF, so KNF is a bit of a branching book. The interweaving is getting more complex and the pace is picking up.

So, two new books as seperate sequels to KNF!
Abnett's The Unremembered Empire and ADB's Betrayer.

Any confirmation on these?

King Fluff - May 29, 2012 12:04 PM (GMT)
by the sounds of it 'The Betrayer' will be ADB's next foray into word bearers then?!? - excellent. :)

ShroudFilm - May 30, 2012 11:42 AM (GMT)
Confirmation? They were both talked about at BL Live, IIRC.

'Betrayer' follows on directly from 'Butcher's Nails', which as you will all know ends at the time 'KNF' begins.

'Unremembered Empire' comes after 'KNF' but is more of a sequel to 'Fear to Tread'. You'll have to read that one in order to "get" the chronology.

Dan has also been quoted in a BL interview on the blog as saying that the Calth story itself is not over. There's more to come on that, but at the moment I can't say what that is... :D

Pacific - June 5, 2012 01:50 PM (GMT)
Saw this on another forum, linked from ADB's web page, not sure if it had been posted elsewhere yet but definitely very interesting!

I like that in-between Raven's Flight and this, some kind of ethos is being made for the WE, rather than them doing their own thing just 'because'.

Sadly I still haven't got hold of Butcher's Nails yet, but has there been any more info on how the neural implants function? Chemical glands in the brain? Some form of electrical impulses via inserted microchips? A trigger mechanism from imbedded memories/mind control, or a combination thereof?

Pacific - June 28, 2012 12:01 PM (GMT)
Rather than post a new thread for every small piece of Heresy-related stuff, what about using this thread?

In any case, a really nice (and touching) piece of artwork that ADB featured on his blog, of Cyrene & Argel Tal from 'The First Heretic'.

[EDIT: Image is too big - edited to link. Plus he's wearing the wrong type of armour. ;) -ShroudFilm]

Gagoc TheAncient - June 28, 2012 07:01 PM (GMT)
I primarily started this thread to unite all the Book and BL news and rumours.

I thought it was a bit much to have to look at each books thread for rumours and general news without running into spoilers.

setanta41 - June 28, 2012 07:30 PM (GMT)
very cool pic....thanks Pacific.

Some new interesting snippets from Graham McNeil on the Black Library webpage

QUOTE
Heresy teasers...? Well, there's... oh, wait, no. Can't tell you about that... or that. Hmmm, well, Fear to Tread is hitting the shelves any day now, and Angel Exterminatus won't be far behind (and, yeah, it'll be another A Thousand Sons-sized behemoth). Then there's my audio drama, ‘Wolf Hunt’ – featuring two of the survivors from The Outcast Dead – and another story called ‘The Thief of Revelations’. Will we see more of Magnus? Almost certainly. Rogal Dorn? Would I like to see more of him? Yes, please. But that's your Heresy ration for now. Plenty to be getting excited about already without going too far into the distance.

Some folk were asking about the Emperor's Children and The Cult Mechanicus; well, you need look no further than Angel Exterminatus or Priests of Mars to scratch those itches. And to those of you who've read Priests of Mars... remember that it's just the first part of a duology. I start the concluding book later this year, so rest assured the expedition of Archmagos Kotov will reach its end there. There's some great stuff to come in that book, that I'm champing at the bit to get to. Just got to delve into the deepest, darkest caves of a dying world for a Horus Heresy novella first.

And onto Warhammer 40,000 now. Aside from Priests of Mars, I plan to return to the boys of Ultramar soon, with a fiendish tale of battle for survival in the pipeline for next year's schedule. It's all go here, I tell you. Okay, what else...? Raven Guard, yeah, I'd love to do some stuff with them, as I always have a real blast when I write them. Who doesn't love space ninjas? As to whether that'd be in Warhammer 40,000 or in the Horus Heresy... well, I have a corking idea for where to use them in the Heresy, but I think it would be equally cool to do something with the sons of Corax in the 41st millennium. Whether my crammed schedule will allow that is another matter. Hopefully.

So (++SPOILERS FROM OUTCAST DEAD++)

-'Wolf Hunt featuring 2 survivors from the Outcast Dead' - so presumably the Luna Wolf who sneaks away at the end being one, but the other? I hope for something more about the antagonists in that story, perhaps Baba?
- Any guesses what 'The Thief of Revelations' is about? A long guess at The Thousand Sons, perhaps Ahriman? I might have said the Word Bearers, but are that legion under the auspices of ADB now?

ShroudFilm - August 7, 2012 09:02 AM (GMT)
I'd just like to point out that I know all of the answers to these questions. :P

I'm surprised you didn't pick up on the obvious Calth reference in there, though. I was more excited about that.

Dogbert - August 7, 2012 09:24 AM (GMT)
Novella about the Ultramarines hanging out in their underground cities eh. I assume this will be limited like the others? Not that im complaining, im a sucker for em anyway.

Yes I felt I didn't need to re-post it! :)

Shroud, I don't know if this is something more deserving of a thread of its own, but has the BL team given much thought to the conception of the Thunder Warriors? Specifically, how likely are we to get any more specific info about that era? Will it be perhaps the odd snippet here and there, or are things firmly on the forward march now with the focus on the Heresy-era battles?

I thought that the sections in The Outcase Dead which featured them (Babu and Ghota) where incredibly intriguing!

Carralak - August 7, 2012 11:40 AM (GMT)
i've heard that we may finally get some news about the Iron Warriors soon... the next one involving Fulgrim apparently, and Fulgrim does mention meeting up with the Iron Warriors legion in The Primarchs book (sorry if this has already been covered elsewhere... i get ahead of myself)

Markus Krell - August 7, 2012 06:50 PM (GMT)
I've just noticed on Amazon that Betrayer is RRP at £11.48; how thick is this book gonna be?!! I hoping thick as it is tall!! :D

The covers up there too if some of you haven't seen it yet.

Pacific - August 7, 2012 08:25 PM (GMT)
Hardback presumably?

Markus Krell - August 8, 2012 07:58 AM (GMT)
It says paperback, unless it is the same size as those of the Space Marine Battles books, but that would look strange.

Reading the snipets that ADB teases us with, this is going to blow all previous books out of the water with its epicness!!

'Angel Exterminatus' is Graham's next novel, out towards the end of this year. At BL Live it was announced that it was a traitor-POV story with the Iron Warriors and Emperor's Children working together on a secret mission. Graham also said during the seminars that he was amazed at just how much 'screen time' Perturabo ended up getting as he wrote it!

The artwork shows Perturabo and a mixed force of EC and IW attacking eldar ghosts.

Markus Krell - August 16, 2012 05:51 PM (GMT)
Just seen the new cover on the BL website for a new Ultramarines novel - "The Mark of Calth".

And as the Jam sang... "Going Underground, going underground!"

What's that in the bottom left-hand corner?

Pacific - August 16, 2012 09:05 PM (GMT)
The picture itself, for those without psychic powers.. ;)

Have to be honest, this is the best piece of HH art I have seen in some time. Perhaps ever, it's just so evocative, such a powerful image. And I keep noticing new stuff every time I look at it..

ShroudFilm - August 16, 2012 10:24 PM (GMT)
Heh, just y'all wait until you find out what this book actually is... ;)

True though, best piece of HH artwork in a LOOOOOOONG time. Neil outdid himself here.

Horus Heresy: The Khan Rides To War, 21st September, exclusive to Black Library.com. (Ad from White Dwarf)

BigWill - August 26, 2012 08:21 PM (GMT)
Too early to be Dans book.

Pacific - August 27, 2012 12:29 PM (GMT)
Oooh.. but can you confirm whether or not it features the Khan riding to war? :D

Someone should tell Vinnie! :)

ShroudFilm - August 27, 2012 12:42 PM (GMT)
I can confirm this.

Which Khan this is, or to which war he is riding, is still to be confirmed...

BigWill - August 27, 2012 12:50 PM (GMT)
The Scars sure do love adding Khan to everything.
Jangtai Khan
Billy khan
Joe Khan
King Khan (ohhhhhhhhhhh grrrrrr he went there)
His French brother Khan Khan

At least BL did not go with
The Wrath of Khan

But I would bet a zillion dollars, they deep down wanted too.

malika - August 27, 2012 04:29 PM (GMT)
Billy Khan, Khan of his Khan is armed with a Khan sword and a Khan pattern pistol, riding on his Khan bike the Khan screams: "For KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!", after which he khans the enemies of his Khan.

I can so see this appearing in a potential White Scars Codex...

Markus Krell - August 27, 2012 04:50 PM (GMT)
I hope they Khan get a decent author for this who Khan give it a three-dimensional feel; otherwise I Khan see it going down the Khan!! :P

BigWill - August 27, 2012 05:18 PM (GMT)
