Title: Protecting the emperor from behind the sofa
Description: Custodes and their enemies in the webway

LudwigR - January 27, 2012 12:07 PM (GMT)
Hello again and happy new year (if a bit late)

Some of you may remember me form this thread with my iron warriors

http://z15.invisionfree.com/The_Great_Crus...4498&st=0&#last

Well once again life gave me a big kicking and sadly these had to disappear into the interwebs to never return without me even having the chance to finish them.

But anyway its a new year now, I have the love of a good woman who doesnt mind the geeking (within reason lol) and the time and resources to do an army again :D

When I choose an army I do try and do something that I dont see a lot of online at the time just so that it will stand out a bit more and will keep me going. This time around there is actually quite a few custodes armies out there but not the way I am going to do them so it should be ok.

The whole theme is based on the fight within the webway behind the golden throne. It will be a mix of custodes, sisters of silence and mechanicus. I wont be keeping it to a specific army list but I will be loosly basing it on the grey knights book with a bit of artistic flair hopefully.

The plan is to have 20 pa custodes, upto 10 terminator custodes, 1 contemptor dreadnought, a couple of custodes heroes, 10-20 sisters of silence, sister of silence hero, 1-3 mechanicus robots, mechanicus representative.

On top of that at the same time I will be working on some enemies at the same time. Whether they be daemons, possessed marines or dark mechanicus.

Id like to do it alternatly but im going to build up the custodes first I think.

Model wise it wont be a surprise to you all to see sanguinary guard bits mixed with grey knight bits with a few scibor bits added on. The sisters of silence will be done in the same style as GooseDaMoose and Brother-Captain Basilus and the mechanicus will be done...i dont know how yet.

The daemons will be quite simple as I will be using the plastics and the possessed I will try and do from different legions as I already have a few ideas for these.

Lastly is the bases....

Ive used the larger pad on the left shoulder as that will be the one that takes any incoming shots and it doesnt look as huge as it does in the pics.

Love the packs think I'll have to pinch the idea! Looking good

Cheers Azkaellon ive had the idea for ages and kept putting it off due to the cost to do a unit.

Then i saw Vagabond on B&C had done near enough what I wanted to do and I thought why not, ill just bite the bullet on this one.

Anyway

Looking at this pic those shoulder pads look even bigger!

The one problem ive had with building these is finding out ive lost an assault cannon so I wont be having a second psycannon now :( might have to do an incinerator instead
