Title: BLACK LIBRARY ADVENT CALENDAR
Description: Starting today...
ShroudFilm - December 1, 2011 12:20 PM (GMT)
This will be a great one for all the HH fans out there, especially TGC members... ;)
In the build-up to Christmas, BL have set up an advent calendar on the website -http://www.blacklibrary.com/advent-calendar
Every day, there is a super-tricky bit of trivia (picked by ME and Graeme!) bound to test even the most dedicated GW fan. Also, each window will reveal a new section of cover artwork from a new novel... one that will DEFINITELY be of interest to you all. B)
In fact, we can run a mini-contest on here - first person to post the correct answer to each question on here is the 'daily winner'. Whoever has the most 'daily wins' by Christmas will get an actual prize from TGC!
Can't say fairer than that!
Leman Russ SW 1
Lord Caldera 1
Bullvine - December 1, 2011 01:28 PM (GMT)
19 Fenrisian years?
ShroudFilm - December 1, 2011 02:17 PM (GMT)
Markus Krell - December 1, 2011 02:58 PM (GMT)
So no chocolate Space Marine then?
It looks like an Imperial Fist with boarding shield, accompanied by friends or foes?
lord_caldera - December 1, 2011 04:12 PM (GMT)
Looks like a Son of Horus fighting Blood Angels to me, but definitely a boarding shield.
son of the forest - December 1, 2011 04:19 PM (GMT)
Im gonna guess this is the other half to Know No Fear, looks like it could be a ravaged Calth
BigWill - December 1, 2011 11:39 PM (GMT)
Looks like the inside of a starship open to the void.
With the boarding shield could be a number of things.
Who wants to take bets the picture has one of the new boarding rams on it

| Who wants to take bets the picture has one of the new boarding rams on it  |
Oh I know it is, but the real question is who is holding it? And who or what is he fighting?!
I've just noticed something! If you look between the dates you'll notice it forms one big picture! Sounds obvious I know but, my guess is that the picture has the Imperial Fists in it. Look really closly at the lines. It could be that one book that involves them and the Iron Warriors, the Crimson Fist I believed it was called?
Or I could just horribly wrong.... :(
Hraesvelgr - December 2, 2011 12:22 PM (GMT)
Twas a blue gem in King Marbad's sword...
... I think...
eFTy - December 2, 2011 12:51 PM (GMT)
It's Imperial Fists vs Iron Warriors, in a space ship open to the void like Big Will said.
Don't ask me how I know. :P
Lord Commander Lucius - December 2, 2011 01:47 PM (GMT)
I think today's answer is blue.
Noserenda - December 2, 2011 01:53 PM (GMT)
I think its blue, but lets swing for Green? ;)
Azkaellon - December 2, 2011 02:51 PM (GMT)
I think it looks like a blood angel contemptor do know the answer to the question though
BigWill - December 2, 2011 03:47 PM (GMT)
Day 2 is definitely a chevron, that means IW
You may be right, this could be the story of Sigismund going to Istivan
Gagoc TheAncient - December 2, 2011 07:36 PM (GMT)
I would say it is the Imperial Fists, as there seems to be a yellow-hulled warship in the background of Dec 1st.
As for who the IF boarding party are fighting, they seem to be wearing Red armour. Though that colouration could be down to the strong red light source that seems to permeate the picture.
eFTy - December 2, 2011 08:42 PM (GMT)
In image nr 1 you can see yellow power armour. That alone indicates Imperial Fists. Not only that but that left shoulder pad seems to have a circular logo on it. Then in nr 2 you can clearly see black & yellow chevrons on the right hand vambrace - an Iron Warrior probably smashed from behind by a thunder hammer whose arcs of electricity are also visible in image 1.
Warsmith - December 3, 2011 02:06 PM (GMT)
Seems definite to me there's an Imperial Fist with a boarding shield (yellow armour in the same style as the IF on the front of Age of Darkness) and an Iron Warrior (hazard stripes on vambrace, as has been said). So the Fists vs the Warriors in some kind of space battle? Screams the Battle if the Phall system to me, shortly after Isstvan V.
Anyway the answer to day 3's question is "I am the Emperor's Vigilance and the Eye of Terra".
Leman Russ SW - December 3, 2011 02:16 PM (GMT)
Todays answer "I am the Emperor's Vigilance and the Eye of Terra"
Gagoc TheAncient - December 3, 2011 06:27 PM (GMT)
A quick question. Why would Iron Warriors have art set into the walls of their corridors and flowers/stars painted on the ceilings of those corridors?
I see those in the 3rd part of the picture.
Could it be Imperial Fists boarding an Emperor's Children ship?
Or if the IF supposition is wrong, could it be Sons of Horus boarding a Blood Angels ship?
Either way I think we'll have to wait til the second week of December before any big clues start being revealed.
BigWill - December 3, 2011 06:46 PM (GMT)
Well the EC and IW were seen talking recently
Gagoc TheAncient - December 3, 2011 07:03 PM (GMT)
Well there is one other thing that makes me question whether those are Iron Warriors defending against boarding. But it is contentious.
In the second picture the lines on the vambrace, which many are calling chevrons, seem to run parrallel to the wrist end of the vambrace.
I admit that I could be wrong, but they are very close to parallel.
ahriman - December 4, 2011 01:57 PM (GMT)
Today's answer, 45 seconds, 90 seconds for the entire day.
Plus I think the estimates so far are probably correct, Imperial Fists v Iron Warriors. Though it has to be said that that is indeed a great deal of red light reflecting from the Iron Warrior, maybe it will look more realistic when the picture as a whole is revealed.
As a side note its a very good choice of picture for this kind of thing, a nice curve ball with the seemingly red clad Space Marine.
Vinnie - December 4, 2011 02:15 PM (GMT)
45 seconds. He was thinking about using up his other 45 seconds of the day that morning, but his evening shower was essential in washing away the grime of the day... or something like that.
ShroudFilm - December 5, 2011 11:56 AM (GMT)
Hehe, much conjecture! Keep looking, guys...
BigWill - December 5, 2011 01:31 PM (GMT)
45 seconds eh either they have a Dark Age Sonic shower or in the far future there is only BO
Leman Russ SW - December 5, 2011 02:53 PM (GMT)
Eshreegar, Velsquee and Eekrit. The answer for today.
ShroudFilm - December 6, 2011 01:06 PM (GMT)
5 days, 5-way split on the scores... no one has yet pulled into the lead!
ahriman - December 6, 2011 01:18 PM (GMT)
Think the answer to today's is Agrippen. Or something like that...
On today's picture however...I mean...its an arm... pretty much the only thing that that's giving away.
BigWill - December 6, 2011 01:29 PM (GMT)
Yes but it is a fancy arm by the armor trim and on te 2nd was a chevron arm.
Looks like Sigismund laying the smackdown on EC and IW during a boarding action.
Will this be collectors or audio?
Leman Russ SW - December 6, 2011 03:18 PM (GMT)
Gagoc TheAncient - December 6, 2011 07:20 PM (GMT)
I did think that Vambrace for the 6th, was a bit ornate for an Iron Warrior.
It's more like something you'd expect to find on BA or EC armour.
Shroud, is there a bonus point for who gets closest to what the scene is portraying?
ShroudFilm - December 6, 2011 10:02 PM (GMT)
No, but I'll be impressed if anyone who doesn't already know from "inside information" ( ) actually works it out...
ahriman - December 7, 2011 02:29 AM (GMT)
"inside information"? Has there been a scandal I've missed?
BigWill - December 7, 2011 07:04 AM (GMT)
I have no inside info, but I may have the psychic ability of Remote Viewing :D
Street lights crap out around me a whole lot more than other people(no lie)
ShroudFilm - December 7, 2011 09:03 AM (GMT)
Some people out there on the internet claim to already know everything about this release... most of them are wrong, amusingly.
BigWill does indeed have an uncanny ability to predict future BL products. When we were copy-editing 'Hive of the Dead', he was saying "you guys should totally do fighting-fantasy books!" and he also PMed me to say "why nto do a novel series about teh Macharian Crusade?" right before 'Angel of Fire' was announced...
ShroudFilm - December 7, 2011 10:40 AM (GMT)
Ahriman nudges into the lead!
son of the forest - December 7, 2011 01:34 PM (GMT)
I think i remember a talking fish in Razumovs Tomb not entirely sure thats right though
Lord Commander Lucius - December 7, 2011 09:09 PM (GMT)
Beastmen i think is the answer.
ShroudFilm - December 8, 2011 01:07 PM (GMT)
Still no one got it right yet...?
Hraesvelgr - December 8, 2011 01:14 PM (GMT)
I think todays answer is a Las Pistol
It's been a while since I read those books.
