Hey everyone
I recently found the Age of the Emperor codex while looking for Primarch rules, I know late to the party, but am curious to hear peoples experience and receptance of this codex on the table top and at your gaming clubs.

Do you mean the Tempus Fugitives AotE codex? The one they are working on at the moment or an old one?

TF have done several events over the past few years, each of which has had a slightly different event pack/codex. They are currently preparing for their next event.

I've only played at one TF event and my experience was 'if your opponent has a Primarch and you don't - you die'. A lot of the characters and units are fluffy and fun.

Like all unofficial extras, you'll need the agreement of your friends/gaming club, so you'll need to ask what they think of it.

The rules were a lot of fun, and there were some awesome fluffy units for Heresy-era games. The downside was that pretty much everything was overpowered and you HAD to use the new units if you wanted to win any games...

Twenty-five Terminators with Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield, led by Rogal Dorn. Bleurgh.

However, compared to the powergaming CHEESE that was the TF Eldar Harlequins expanded list, it was almost underpowered!

There's an updated version of the TF rules in the works , here, under 'Expansion'.

It's introduce the Legendary Points system to dial back a number of the questionable combos and tiny elite armies that surfaced with the earlier versions of the rules; and the Primarchs and characters have been rebalanced.

Showed the codex to my gaming group and had a few test plays today. I apparently have a slow gaming group because they said the codex seemed under power.

Alpha Legion terminator army cleaned house! Is it fluffy? Nope.
Recon list in the works.
