Title: Noob questions

King Fluff - May 23, 2011 09:42 AM (GMT)
Ok a little confused.

On the army lists posted so far, where it says 4 landspeeders is that 4 individual models or is it 4 bases of three models?

Lord Commander Lucius - May 23, 2011 09:45 AM (GMT)
4 individual models or as i'm pretty sure the lists should say, 5.

Vehicles and light vehicles are marked out by individual models, while squads are marked by stands of between three and seven models. Land Speeders, as light vehicles, are individually marked out; while bikes (for example) would be marked as a squadron.

As Lord Commander Lucius points out, Land Speeder formations are bought in groups of 5.

TL;DR:
Land Speeders are individual models.

thanks guys that really clears that up.

so...

dreads, landspeeders are all seperate

and bikes etc are squads.

so next question.

do I mount all my rhinos etc on bases and what bases should i use, should i use the square bases for my landspeeders and rhinos? and long bases for infantry and squads.

I'm actually mounting my thunderwolf cavalry on warmaster bases - is this ok?

I've made a thread that explains the rules, conventions and common practise for basing here:
CLICKY

Vehicles don't have to be based, but can be. Just make sure no part of the base is greater than 40mm wide and you're golden.

Similarly, the Thunderwolves will look spiffy (and be legal) on Warmaster bases. :)

Wonderful thanks Edd, so in terms of Titans most people mount on 40mm and 60mm round bases, not sure whether to follow convention or use up some large square bases I have lying around.
