I just finished reading the book, "Sons of Dorn" and it has a Imperial guard unit called the Roaring Blades that are a unit that served with the Emperor's Children when they fell to Slaanesh. Just thought i would put the info out there for pre-hersey units.

...and what does it say about them?

I have that book, somewhere. Haven't got around to reading it, as it seems like a reworking of Ian Watson's 'Space Marine', which I grew up with.

"Once upon a time these wretches were known as the Righteous Blades. Long ago, before the days of the Horus Heresy during the era of the Great Crusade, the Righteous Blades were one of the most decorated and respected infantry units in all the Imperium. Vassels to Fulgrim and his Emperor's Children of the legiones Astartes, the Righteous Blades fought on countless worlds in the name of mankind's Emperor, and won several victories." page 213

"Now, this is the arch-traitor Sybaris of the Emperor's Children Legion. page 214
It also gives a description of him on that page.

Page 231 starts the first battle with the Righteous Blades and gives some description of what they now look like. All members of the Righteous Blades use swords.

The main battle takes place on page 325 to the end of the book where the Imperial fists hold the mountain fort from the Emperor's Children and the Righteous Blades.

I hope this helps.

Very interesting... are they the same warriors or new recruits? I think this would be one of the first times a non-Astartes group has been confirmed as surviving from M31 to M41 if so?

Sigh, now I guess I will have to read it after all...

From the way the book is written, to me it suggests that the Righteous Blades are the orginals but you never now.

I just found it intresting that the Righteous Blades were given a history that linked them to the Great Crusades.

Also named a Emperor's Children marine from the Great Crusade to add to the list.
