Ugh! I remember my 'Why don't I just build a warhound out of plasticard'-project...
Sofar I've got 2 toes done, anyone interrested?

I downloaded some zip files of 'dimension' drawings for a thunderhawk last week. I converted them to a cad drawing one lunch and printed it out. Not sure how good the plans will be as they are based on elevations and plans. They also suggest using parts from a star wars pod racer for the engines, if you can get one. I hope to build the basic shell from foamboard this weeked, if I get a chance.

If you like I can post the plans, but the main elevations are on an A2 drawing.

I'll pdf them tomorrow as the are on the office pc.

The details are pretty basic but then again half the fun of scratch building is adding rivets and plate/panel lines

I am interested... Hmmm never thought of using autoCAD.

Any advice on how to link up .pdf files to the thread?

Not as viewable images... you'd need to screenshot them and post that image as per any other.

Or just upload the file to sharing site then give the link?

ShroudFilm - September 22, 2010 07:04 PM (GMT)
Oh, you can link to files just like any other link. I assumed you meant so we could see them visually.

thanks for that. Any suggestions for a hosting site? I'll post a screen shot swell but you'll not really be able to print that to scale.

Thinking about it a little more, as the dwg's are A1 and A2 it's unlikely that you'll be able to print them at home either.

Hmmmmm..... Give me a couple of days to dimension the drawing. If I have time I'll try and explode the panels and set them out as an A4 cut sheet.

I'll post the screen shot later to see if you think the likeness is good enough to bother.
