Title: Blood Ravens & "A Thousand Sons"
Description: Digging up ancient history...

Hello everyone again. Uthizzar (not Uzthizzar after all <_< ) has returned to The Great Crusade (or Da Grate Croosade) after a long spate of exams. Greetings and best wishes to all!

Anyway, I have just finished reading "A Thousand Sons", having thoroughly enjoyed it, but with several weighty thoughts on my mind. Aside from the death of my name-sake, the pressing similarities that we suspected between the Thousand Sons and the Blood Ravens have been at least strongly hinted at if not anything else. This, for me, showed itself in the form of Kallista Eris being used to divine the future of the Legion after Magnus' aetheric flight to Terra when she described the Ravens of Blood.

Does anybody have anything to say about this?

Thanks and Wishes

P.S. Sorry if doing the subject to death.

^I agree. I think there is some consensus on this, which is nice. Welcome back!

I also liked Graham McNeill's use of names (as in the Kallista Eris you mention!).

Aye, the Blood Ravens=Thousand Sons debate has been around for a while, and certainly the ravens of blood, lost sons quote adds further support to the theory. Theres stll one or two puzzles surrounding the idea (primarily the supposed stability of the Blood Ravens geneseed, in marked contrast to that of their supposed parent Legion) but it does increasingly seem to be the way GW is taking the background. There's some pre-Thousand Sons discussion on the subject here, and discussion of the Thousand Sons hint here.

....but the conversation has gone out beyond my reach otherwise there will be Thread-necromancy and appropriate skinning :o
