Title: Drop Pod WE using the SW's
Description: 1500 points off goodies!

Well I've finally caught the pre-heresy bug and have opted for a World Eaters army (yes I'm a glutton for punishment when it comes to painting white...I own a 1500 white scars army too!)
Thought of using the SW list as it gives me some of the savagery of the WE wiothout the descent into barbarianism.
The army is set during the great crusade about 5 years after the story "After De'shea" and the return of Angron, but before the use of the butcher's nails was widely adopted. So my WE, while still occasionally being frothing loonies, still retain some measure of martial prowess.

Presented for your criticism is the speartip of the 6th company led by Captain Vortigen

Captain Vortigen [wolf lord] TDA, 2x Chainfists (it's fluff...and looks cool!)
5 Devourers [wolf guard] 4x TDA and frost blade in Drop pod [with vortigen]
1x TDA and cyclone launcher [with LF Pack]

10x Marines [grey hunters], 2x flamers, drop pod
10x marines [grey hunters], 2x meltagun, drop pod
10x marines [grey hunters], 2x meltagun, drop pod
10x marines [grey hunters], 2x plasmagun, drop pod

5x marines [Long fangs], 4x missile launcher, drop pod

Dreadnought, Assault Cannon, drop pod

comes in at exactly 1500 points of armoured fury, hopefully doing the red angel proud..

First off, i must say it looks pretty good and balanced, BUT to really capture the WE i'd go with Blood Claws (i know i know low BS and WS, well try playing a 1500 point army of gretchin  ) BUt seriously, if your opponent didn't mind and you weren't uber serious about tournaments, you could use the TF rules for the WE, it even includes chainaxes and berzerkers!

Test it out a couple times if you've already built it, if not, ask some of the more WE oriented people abou tactics, i know that Pacific uses the BA, with Death Co. being the 'zerkers and what not, but i've rambled long enough...

You know, your enemy can put all his units in reserve and you have to land on the empty battlefield. ;)

I like the list. Let your enemy hide in reserves, this means you are claiming objectives and that his heavy ordnance can't fire on their first turn. Screw cowards, probably playing eldar anyway...weedy gits.....

THEY MIGHT AS WELL BE F***ING PRETTY MARINES!

If the enemy is the type to put everything in reserve, deploy the dreadnought, long fangs, plasma gunners & terminators, so when he does come piecemeal your fresh pods can melt his tanks of burn his troops.

That being said, why not use Blood Angels rules? I know they don't get counterattack or the second special weapon, but death company and furious charge throughout the army are pretty nice, not to mention assault marine troops...

It's easier to play when your enemy puts everything in reserve. You're not fighting with whole army at once. When I play on massiev drop pod list my enemy ALWAYS puts everying in reserve. It makes no sense but they do it. IMO you need to get some wolf guards to your troop squads.
