Title: Daemon Fulgrim!
Titus Pullo - May 19, 2010 10:39 AM (GMT)
Here are a few shots of my Daemon Fulgrim which I made for the last AOTE event for those who haven't seen it already, thought this bit of the forum could do with some love!
He was made mainly from the Angelius Warbeast from Privateer Press and then Sigvald the Magnificent from Fantasy Battle and lots of green stuff!
Haven't quite finished the paintjob in the last pic but there are more recent ones on Shrouds Facebook page.

Awesome model, and definitely nothing to do with me that he lost an arm before the first round at AOTE... :ph43r:
I've just realised what lower arms I was thinking of all this time - the old Genestealer Hybrid plastics. Might be worth hunting down if you're still not happy?

He looks absolutely great.. and I think an improvement on the weird lizard thing in Collected Visions (which has gone too far to be recognisable as Fulgrim).
How did he perform in the games at AoTE?

I've been racking my brains for the last few days trying to figure out what you mashed old Sigvald together with, can't believe I didn't think of PP.

Cheers guys. If you are wondering what shroud speaks of I'm not very happy with the set of lower arms which I sculpted and are massively out of proportion so I might pull them off. Genestealer arms sound like they could work.
In the games I only used this beast in the 3000 point games as I was using Imperial Army I had to use the non-daemon version or have another Space Marine Captain in the list and there just weren't enough points to go around!
However this guys performed a lot better than the non daemon mainly because he has wings! Could actually pick my targets and get to them by turn 2 rather than moping about the board running for ages. (In the first game it was turn 4 before I got to the enemy objective although it was gratifying to strike down all his defenders in one go before they could attack back!) Had some abysmal games when I thought deep strike would be more useful to get me into contact and he didn't show up at all!
In his best performance I faced off against Apologist's Guilliman and got lucky as I was struck many times and survived with a wound left but that was enough to polish of the little blighter! Then I encountered Marius Gage on the next turn. In the TF pack Fulgrim has a special deathstrike wound which causes instant death, no eternal warrior or invulnerables etc etc IF you roll all attacks against the one model and hit with them all. After playing a few games with Fulgrim I decided this was pretty unlikely to ever happen as on the charge and facing someone with a high weaponskill he gets bonus attacks which comes to 8 I think. So the chances of rolling 8 3 or 4 6's seem pretty low but it happened and Mr Gage bought it!
Fulgrim died miserably seconds later though!
Overall the I9 and WS10 count for a lot but he has to be in the right place at the right time and that I find pretty hard to do. When he is in non-daemon form he really needs mounting in a Land Raider or something or deepstriking with a good teleport homer in operation! When he is in daemon form though quite a lot easier to use.

Good conversion, nice work! Another alternative set of arms you might consider would be crypt ghouls.

What about hobbit arms, those are small.
ShroudFilm - May 20, 2010 04:55 PM (GMT)
Silly Pacific. Hobbits aren't real!

Since I don't think TP will ever bother, here is a pic of the finished mini:

This is an impressive Fulgrim Version but i think because he is a real Son of the Emperor and mixing that with Warp Demon Power should bring him to a bigger Version...
Look what somebody did with Parts of the Trygon and the new Demonprince kit...
He just need a second set of arms and that rather disturbing head that Demon Fulgrim in Collected Visions had:
This is one big beast...just to say that it would look not so good to use the Trygon for parts...
ShroudFilm - August 11, 2010 01:57 PM (GMT)
That's actually very nice... I had envisaged some kind of "emerging Trygon" bursting out of the ground as the natural result of the all the leftover bits, too... hmmm...
