Huhu peeps,
I've been asked to create a Pre Heresy Land Raider tutorial. Now this is no problem, however I only have 1 Land Raider and it was already assembled before I got the request for a tutorial.
So instead I made a tutorial with a lot of pretty colors, and I hope you can kinda make out how to create a Pre Heresy Land Raider after following this bit.

Here goes!
YOU WILL NEED
- A Land Raider (duh)
- Sculpting tools/sharp knive for plasticard
- Apoxie Sculpt (Greenstuff will do too)
- 2x PVC Tube thingy
- Plasticard
- Pen/Pencil/Fine Liner
I know it's the Land Raider Crusader/Redeemer box... DON'T get that one, I got one by accident which caused me quite a lot of trouble coz I had to convert the Heavy Bolters/Lascannons from scrap bits out of the bitbox
STEP 1: Adding base panel
This is the end product, side view, we start by adding the Base panel
This is the base panel which you will glue against the side of the Land Raider. All other panels will be glued against your base panel.
STEP 2: Adding mid support panel
This is the end product, top view, now we glue the mid support panel against the base panel.
We glue the mid support panel against the base panel, this panel will not be visible once the model is done and only functions as support. In the next step we glue the door panel between this panel and the base panel
STEP 3: Adding door panel
The door Panel is added.
Cut a door shape into this panel and insert the standard Land Raider door into this shape.
STEP 4: Adding side panel
The door Panel is added.
The side panels are glued against the door panel and the mid support panel. These will house the Lascannons.
STEP 5: Adding front panels 1
The first front panels are added, just glue these against the side panels
STEP 6: Adding front panels 2
The second front panels are added, just glue these between the first front panels and the base panel.
STEP 7: Bottom panel for lascannon cylinder
At the same height as the top of the lower side panel section glue a panel with a hole the size of your PVC cylinder between the side panels and the base panel. This panel will hold the cylinder in it's place at the bottom.
STEP 8: Insert cyllinder
Insert your cylinder ;) Make sure the cylinder has a squared hole in it, in which you can insert the lascannons at the end of this project.
STEP 9: Top panel for lascannon cylinder
Same as step 7.
Glue it between the bottom of the upper side panel section and the base panel.
Your cylinder will now be in place, not being able to shake or fall over.
STEP 10: Top & bottom panels
This panel closes the top of the Sponson. Make sure you also apply this panel at the bottom of your Land Raider, else your Cylinder will fall out at the bottom ;)
STEP 11: Last bits and cleaning up
Your basic shape is now done, but there are still some holes in your construction. I used Apoxie Sculpt and sanded/filed it down until it became all smooth. If you do not have Apoxie, and use greenstuff instead, use sculpting tools to create a smooth finish.
Next apply some purity seals/heraldry and other accesories and VOILA! You are done!
I hope this tut can help you when you wish to create your own Land Raider! :D
