Hey guys. Well, after a discussion that has been going on for a few weeks between me and my friend, We have decided after we have both finished our blood angle armies, We are gonna do a Mini Campain between us based around the HH (Suprisingly :D ).
He will be doing Night Lords (He is a member on here called, Mr.40k) and I will be returning To my Emperors Children.
But I have a question, Which Codex should I use?
the ones im concidering are as folled....
. Space Marines
. Chaos Space Marines
. Blood Angels
. Dark angels
. Demon Hunters
. Black Templars
I see the Emperors Children as a more "Elite" army, very good when it comes to combat (although not in such a way as world eaters or blood angels) and much more unique when it comes to organisation, although they still had companies and such as far as im aware ;)
any help on this subject would be much apreciated as im completely stuck on where to go from here
I think the regular Space Marine codex is probably most appropriate.
I use the Space Marine dex and have enormous fun out of it.The Emperor's Children had a typical Legion organisation (i believe that Guilliman "borrowed" a thing or two from them for his codex) and used superior tactics to defeat their enemies. To represent that you can use combat squads and combat tactics. If you get bored of playing that way then you can take a special character that change the army special rule(stubborn or the flamer/melta rule of Vulkan) and/or force organisation chart(bikes as troops, sternguard as troops) to best suit you. That way you can represent the Children adapting to various conditions on a battlefield/campaign and coming out of it victorious and one step closer to perfection.
I'd agree the 'standard' marine codex would be best. The Emperor's Children believed in perfection and adaptabilty rather than having a 'quirk' like some of the other Legions. I'd say the most appropriate choices would be tactical squads (they epitomise the adaptability of the Space Marines, being ready for any task) and elite choices such as Vanguard and Sternguard veterans (specially trained and equipped veterans is a perfect match with the EC and their emphesis on perfection). .
