how cool do thier sargents look? all gold? thats boss as hell. what do you think?

Not noticed this. Source?

I love the crafted gold armour (a la Dante and Tycho) that the senior characters have now but never spotted golden sergeants before.

Captains maybe... not sergeants. Plus I don't recall seeing many in the canon artwork.

But yeah, they're totally rad and freaky and poppin' fresh... and other inappropriate youth slang.

Wow, that's the best way to get picked out by enemy snipers ever devised.

Amendera - February 13, 2008 12:14 AM (GMT)
wow, that is awesome armor - but did the guy paint his face gold too? Weird... Agreed he is a sniper's dream!

Would love to know where the pic is from!

Must resist urge to make joke about a certain metallic colour and a method of cleaning oneself.

I think it's meant to be a death mask, as opposed to golden face paint: there was an old Blood Angel captain who looked very similar to that, and was sometimes referred to as Tycho before they made the Tycho model for second edition. I've only ever seen gold for Captains (and, of course, Dante), not sergeants.

Also: I and people around here say 'boss' all the time! That's the UK, and I'm 24.

Blood Angel Captain

http://www.solegends.com/citcat911/c2006smcommanders-m.htm

bottom of page, central.

As I understand it, the death mask (of Sanguinius) thing is specific to Comm. Dante, although I guess that's just the standard GW mopping up loose ends as they go thing.

Have one in the unpainted box, along with all the others on that page, but being at work keeps interfering my painting output.

Weiss - February 13, 2008 12:11 PM (GMT)
Dante's one is the only one of Sanguinius, all the others are of chapter heroes.

That picture was the inspiration for the first model that lead to Tycho and Dante.
He's a Captain as stated above, the only real difference between post and pre-heresy Blood Angels would be that they had tactical arrows, etc, instead of the blood drop company marking and didn't suffer from the Black Rage or the Thirst so wouldn't have a Death Company.

Magos Explorator - February 13, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
Yep, that's the figure. :)

Azkaellon - December 16, 2010 12:59 AM (GMT)
"the figure in gold could be only one thing, one being-for the strictures of the IX Legiones Astartes forbade any but the primarch himself and his personal body guard from donning such armour.."

Bloodline also mentions that the PH Blood Angel's armour is much less ornate than the 40K version.
