Description: Were they around before the Heresy?

I haven't been able to find any info on the Officio Assassinorum (assassin temples) history. I know that they played a big role in the Age of Apostasy, but what about the Horus Heresy? Where the assassins around then as well? Any info?

Konrad Kurze is said to have been done in by an assassin.
Apparently there may be some fluff somewhere which says the assassin temples predate the Imperium, but my memory may be faulty on this point.

I don't have it to hand, but I think the Second Edition Codex: Assassins mentioned some of the Temples existing during the Great Crusade.

Couldn't Curze have been killed after the Heresy? Oh wait...the Emperor did send the assassin according to the Traitor Primarch. However, the High Lord tend to operate in the name of the Emperor...but would Curze mix the two up? *confused*

Hmm, I guess I would have to look into that when I'm back in Holland...oh wait, I only have the 3rd edition, that very thin useless book. If you could check it out for me that would be great. I'm planning on doing a (proto) Eversor Assassin who is loyal/programmed/under control of the Word Bearers/Dark Mechanicus. The design (and maybe equipment) might not look the same as the normal model, but that could thus be written off as being "heresy era", something like that after the Heresy they started the develop the equipment that we know today.

Yes, but they were a totally different ballgame right? What are techpriest assassins by the way?
