Title: Geno Five-Two Chiliad
Description: From Legion

I've got a few Vossies lying around collecting dust and was thinking about painting them up as Geno's, but whilst looking at the cover artwork of Legion it occurred to me that its not entirely clear what their uniform scheme is, so I'd like to hear everyne's thoughts on the appearance of the Regiment.
Personally, based on what I can see in the artwork, I picture them as having dull yellow (Iyanden Dark Sun?) greatcoats with a purple floral motif that makes me think of the cloth worn by samurai (stylised chrysanthemum/lotus patterns?).
Although the majority of the guard shown on the cover have bearskin hats, I actually prefer the guy with the Attilan roughrider style fur-rimmed helm, and can see a mix of onion-style helms (think Kislev lancers/gryphon legion, Attilans and WWI Kaiser Wilhelm style helmets with points) looking quite striking, as well as edging them away from looking like Vossies in fancy coats.
Whats everyone elses take on the Geno?

Here's my take on the Geno's uniform-the great description in Legion:
|The geno uniform was a bulky, tightbuckled bodyglove of studded leather and armour links, with a waist-length cape of yellow merdacaxi, a Terran silk, much rougher and more hard-wearing than the pink silks of the Nurthene.|
The ornate leather armour was marked with devices and trimmed with fur, and the backs of their capes were richly embroidered with company emblems and motifs. They carried lightweight packs, munition slings, long sword bayonets, and the bottles of their double water rations, which clinked against the liqnite cylinders they had all been issued with. Standard weapons were laser carbines and RPG sowers, but some men lugged fire poles or support cannons.
Their headgear was spiked helms, either silvered steel or glossy orange, often edged with brims of fur or neck veils of beaded laces. The glare shields were goggle-eyed: bulbous, paired hemispheres of orange metal with black slits across them.

Cheers Vesp! Though I have to ask - how do you locate these tracts of text so quickly?

Its a combination of things really. :ph43r: Its all very secret though.
Oh and as an extra detail the Imperial Army troops on the front cover of Legion may not necessarily be the Geno Five-Two Chiliad...
As the Zanzibari Hort, the Outremars, the Sixth Torrent and the Thorns were all present in the scene which is depicted on the cover. :ph43r:

I got the impression that the Geno troops would be more like Van Saar gangers... those fellas on the cover are far too different to the description.

Apart from the yellow cloaks with decoration and helmet styles, I'd be inclined to agree with you Shroud. Probably just a classic commisioned artworker-lack of source info type situation.
But its a fair point about the other regiments present in the book - so Mr Vesp, using your eidetic memory and fluff mastery skills, do we have anything on the appearance of the other regiments?

I wouldn't say my memory is eidetic exactly-but if you read the same stuff enough times, and answer similar questions enough times; then the details tend to get compartmentalised in my head.
There are details on the other Regiments, but I will need to scan read through to find them: so its going to take a little longer I'm afraid.

No problem sir, your efforts are always appreciated. I'm nearing the time when it becomes appropriate to have my third read-through of the series from start to finish...
