Hi guys, I was wondering what color to paint my banner for Sons of Horus, I don't want to paint it green either....
Any suggestions?

Red!
Like those you see in films and dramas based in the Roman Empire.

What design are you wanting on the banner? Just I think that would affect your choice to an extent.

Well I def want the eye of horus, and Im doing Iacton's company...but red makes me think "codex" not LEGION....
maybe black???

You could just replace the wolf for the Eye of Horus

Well the artwork depicting Sons of Horus banners from Horus Heresy: Collected Visions (which incorporate the Eye of Terra/Eye of Horus) have a predominantly red background.

However there is no need to assume that this was the only colour used by Sons of Horus on their banners. An excerpt from False Gods shows that Sons of Horus Captains had different coloured cloaks:

QUOTE
Ten warriors clad in the comb-crested helms and shimmering plate armour of the Sons of Horus marched...cloaks of many colours billowing at their shoulders
(Page 30)

If the different Captains were distinguished by different coloured cloaks, then by extension this practice may have also been exhibited on banners as well (thereby representing the different commands of the individual Captain).

Thanks, maybe I'll skim through my Collected Visions for some more ideas...

Maybe you could try to tie it in with either Cthonia or the Triumph at Ullanor?
If you're doing Iacton's Coy Cthonia or Terra even, would fit fluff wise.

Iacton's Coy Cthonia or Terra

I am by no means a noob , but what is this?

Torg - September 10, 2008 08:49 AM (GMT)
I think he means Company, right Yvraith?
As in Co, not Coy,Probably a accident.
I sometimes do that too. :)
(Hard to imagine I admit I make mistakes,
boy if only my warband in the SCA can hear me say it! )
Id na beogh ba!(Fear no enemy!)

Yvraith - September 10, 2008 09:46 AM (GMT)
Yep, Bang on Torg.
I meant Company, Coy. is the abbreviated form used here in the Australian Army.
Sorry if I confused you Krug, I forget not everyone knows the same abbreviations & acronyms etc., that I do.

There should of been a comma after it too.
ie. "If you're doing Iacton's Coy, Cthonia or Terra even, would fit fluff wise."
