Hey I got some info on Dorn's guard,From the short story of the Dark king,
is that Dorn's personal guard are called the Templars pg's 11-12
of "The Dark king"Hope that inspires some people! :)

shortly after the heresy The templars became The Phalanx Terminators, which i like better, though i will be doing a Templar command squad for Sigismund and my pre heresy company

Really...(Gets inspiration)I say this should be some interesting
tidbits. And some cool ideas for conversion stuff
For power armoured Templars maybe use the Templar stuff
as Dorn's guard,(Maybe that is where the whole Templar thing
came from.. ;) )

well they were Dorn as well as Sigismunds body guard, and i plan on paiting them in templar colours as well as giving them tabards, and power weapons

That's what I'm doing for my Imperial Fists. They are/are going to be yellow with black and off-white as secondary colours, mixing in the Maltese Cross and Black Templar plastic components.

I say this should almost be cannon for doing Dorns guard,
quite like the Ultramarine Honour guard can be used for
either Ultra's or Fulgrims guard.
I am starting to build Dorn's guard as we speak, :)
instead of the normal yellow I am using a kinda gold
by Ceramcoat it is a acriyllic paint you can get from
fabric and paint stores everywhere.usually runs for .50 to a buck ;)
as we don't have a Games workshop anymore or even a
independent retailer. I have to order on line now!
The paint actually works!I don't even have to prime it! :)

so is that to say there were no IF termies till after the heresy? if there were does any one have any ideas as to where i can fine some pictures? as the one in collected visions looks just like a regular termie

carful mate, this is a fairly big thread necro ;)

ShroudFilm - August 16, 2009 10:31 PM (GMT)
I think there are pics of PH IF Termies, somewhere... I definitely recall yellowish armour but that could be Custodes?

To clarify - Dorn's Templars were his 1st Company, under the command of Sigismund. His personal bodyguard were the Huscarls, led by Archamus (TLT p7)

TLT?

Please de-acronym for me. :D

Also....

Is there something undesirable about Thread Necromancy?

Itkovian - November 5, 2009 07:27 AM (GMT)
Maybe... :D

TLT: The Lightning Tower - one of two short stories given out at Games Day a couple of years ago.

So would it be legal to take Sword Brothers or Black Templar Parts and combine them with the Fist to build First Company of Dorn during Heresy ?

How do they look ? Left Shoulderpad Imp. Fist Icon and Right Pad the Templar Cross or how do they do it ?

Because im getting a Dorn Sculpt and i want to make Bodyguards like the Smurf Calgar has...

So you put the Fistsymbol there were it should be on the other Shoulder Guard right ? Ok so i think i will go that way too...Black Templar Update Kit here i come... ;)

Hero of Istvaan - November 5, 2009 09:54 AM (GMT)
yep, i used the templar pads to denote their 1st co veteran status B)

The Red Sorcerer - November 5, 2009 11:22 AM (GMT)
Aye I'd say that Hero of Istvaan's approach is the best colour scheme for the First Company - yellow armour, Imperial Fist symbol in the standard place, and the Templar Cross on a black and white pad on the other side both to show their Captain's heraldry and denote their vetaran status. Horus Rising and The Dark King confirm that both Sigismund and his Templars wore yellow armour with black heraldry, so this definitely seems the best way to represent them.

I agree with Red Sorceror and Hero of Istvaan. Here's a couple of pictures of some I did a while ago along the same lines:
