General Usage: This board has been set up for Falcon Fans to enjoy discussions about our beloved Atlanta Falcons. Any other use of this board will not be allowed.
Rules:
1. Honest and mature opinions, suggestions, hopes, etc. for our Falcons are encouraged. This may include things like "John Player needs to tackle with proper technique or players will continue to slip away". It may not include "John Player stinks. Bubba should be fired for signing him."
2. All discussions should be about the Falcons. Discussions about fellow board members will not be tolerated.
3. Posts that are made to appear as news releases such as "The Atlanta Falcons announced today that..." but in fact are not substantiated by an actual news release will be removed. Repeated attempts to misrepresent will result in the poster being banned.
4. Post that call for action by the Atlanta Falcons are discouraged and may be removed. If the posts are repeated and appear to be a spam effort, the offender may be banned. Instead of "Bench Bubba, start Frank", just explain why you think Bubba is not the best player for a situation and why you think Frank will be better.
5. Signatures must be football related. Any signature depicting violence, pornography, etc. will be removed.
6. Moderators must act in an unbiased manner at all times. Friendships, disagreements, differing opinions, personal histories, cannot result in warnings and bannings of any poster. No banninigs should occur without some discussion except where intentional and obvious efforts have been made to violate the Code of Conduct and make trouble for fellow board members.
7. Children can become members only with parental approval. All members under the age of 18 must identify themselves. Their age, member name, and proof of approval from a parent must be provided to the email address falconloyal@gmail.com. Children are strictly forbidden to send personal messages to adult members.
8. Adult members are strictly forbidden to send personal messages to children. You are required to ask the fellow member if they are 18 years of age prior to engaging in prolonged discussions via personal messaging or agreeing to establish any form of personal relationship. A single incident will be dealt with immediately and all appropriate steps to protect children on this site will be taken without delay.
9. The most important rule of all. Respect your fellow fans. Encourage discussion. Celebrate varying opinions. Enjoy debate.

More to come.

No pornography, please.

There are no plans to allow pornography. This will be a family oriented site for Atlanta Falcons fans and fans of competitive teams.

Family Friendly is a good thing, for sure. I would also hope the sigs over here can be limited to only football. Pure Football will make Falcons Fans come here first.

I LOVE the sig idea!

Gangstas with guns, political ideologues, vulgar content...no place for that here.

This is why the more input we get the better.

Thanks Interceptor.

Good suggestions. Thanks. BreadSlicer, lets add this to the basic rules. I will add it tonight unless you can do it this afternoon.

You're welcome.....Some sig sizes over there are oversized too....avatars have limits, I would think Sigs should too.

Thanks, Interceptor. I believe that because this board is a scaled down and limited version of the Invision board run by the official Atlanta Falcons, we are inherently limited in filesize for attachments. However, this is something I will watch. If you see graphics that overfills a page, let me or any mod know and we will set some controls on that.

Thanks for the suggestions to make TFL a special place. Keep the ideas coming.

Those rules are tighter than the OMB, and they have all but sucked the life out of that place..anyone that was on the OMB in 2001-2003 will tell you it used to be alot of fun..some rules but not like church....I can tell you back then there was no need for a Falcon Loyal, Falcon Flock, Falcon Fprum, etc....that should tell you something.

I am not saying make it as edgy as "The Last Kids Picked", but dont over moderate, see the "Falcon Fan Forum", got a guy that has a bunch of rules, and loves to ban folks...that board is DEAD.

Try to find a happy medium, and keep it loose....some folks tend to take a MB too serious, do so at your boards perial.

Saying you cant say something like "Bench John" or "we should fire Jim" is going too far...unless you want this to be a fan club, not a debate board.

I have been on alot of boards, and seen some thrive and some die, even saw one get deleted by a pissed off Mod laugh.gif ...so please dont think I am trying to tell you what to do. Its your place, Im just a visitor. I am only offering you suggestions.

That's exactly the kind of feedback we are looking for. I would much rather learn from someone else's mistakes. wink.gif

Well noted Orlando.

Actually, OrlandoFalcon, it is our board. You own a piece of this and we welcome your opinion. As you know, rules are always tighter than what is actually judicially practiced. So, when we wrote the rule you mentioned, we were thinking about the Spams on AFMB. Posters who are tolerated beyond any logic spam the board with start Duckett, trade Dunn and other such posts. When you ask for the reasoning, logic, or stats that support it, one particular poster tells you that you are an idiot, fool, stupid, etc. Then, one of the moderaters puts you on notice or bans you.

My concern is that a poster like that may start that here. If it happens, I will explain one time how to respect fellow posters. After that, further posting of that nature and the spammer will be banned.

So, Orlando, if you say we should bench a player and start another one, I am not going to take exception to that if it sounds like good football talk. Maybe we should look at wording the rule differently. We will need to think about that for a while. After all, Spamming and "stirring the pot" is something that is subjectively defined.

BTW: Welcome to the board. I think I was Rooster the last time we talked. I was banned when I refused to play dead for Shiney and Daddy.

So, pretty much what you're saying is that if we offer a crazy suggestion, we have to justify it, either with stats or subjective analysis? I can do that. And if we don't, it's spamming/"stirring the pot". Sounds pretty good to me.

I'm starting to like this board more and more. My wife pointed out to me that I now check out the Falcon Loyal before I check out the Pure Football Forum on the AFMB.

Glad to hear that BigManChilli. I wish we had only one rule. Come here to talk about football and our Falcons. But, you know how some would bend that. But for you real Falcon fans, come here to talk Falcons football. You will never have a problem doing that on this board. The fact that we moderators agree or not with what you say means nothing. Our opinion is no better than anyone elses. We just want to keep the talk about Falcons football.

We may even open a board for slugfest. You know, no rules, trash your fellow poster. LOL. Maybe. But, we don't want that on the TAF board.
