Mortals [mawr-tl]adjective of or pertaining to human beings as subject to death; human
Adam and Eve are the beginning of this specie. Everyone knows the story, and know the homosapians. They are the most common in the world, and live in all conditions. Mortals are probably the most weak creatures and give in to temptation and sins, making them also very impure. This is why many believe in religion, but others don't care. They live life on the edge and do everything they can to make life the most fun.
Is there anything special about humans?
Sadly, nothing unnatural about them. The only thing really special about them is that they have a more working mind, making many of them quite smart and evasive. OTher than that, mortals are weak creatures but are open to being sired to immortal beings.
How do they die?
Stupid question, I know, but mortals are open to all diseases and anything that penetrates their organs or excessive blood loss leads to death. They are particualary weak creatures.
Why Caldera?
Mortals believe this city still beautiful, so are continuously building onto it, and now repopulating slowly, invading the space of the many creatures already present, making things difficult for everyone.
