If you go to Michael Crouchers website (jazzfeists.com) there are some plans. I used them to make several and they work great. Also, it can catch more than one if your squirrels aren't afraid of the others in there going crazy. I didn't add the tube to mine but they work great and were cheaper. I used the .25" hardware cloth and used wire to wire mine shut and it worked just fine. Had no access to the hog rings they used that would have made things easier. You can use zip ties too but they might bite through them and release themselves if you don't check them often enough. I can take a pic of one when I get home but that might take some time. LOL

Do you want to trap anything more than squirrel's? Have you ever been to a flee markett? You can find some there sometimes that are pretty cheep. For 30 some dollars you can buy two traps from Southern States. One is for squirrels and one is for coon.

I've used the same traps that Dan's talking about. I've caught several squirrels in the large trap as well as the small one. I've bought 2 sets from there and all but the one large trap have worked great. I just use it for a holding cell now until I get them to where I want to release them.

I have not made one of these traps yet but they are the best i have seen at catching squirrels, Buy your wire 48" and you only have one place to clamp. Bend it 16 then 8 and then16 again and you are ready to clamp it together. Your ends are 8X16 and in the tunnel end make a opening 4" high 5" wide and center it. Then the tunnel is 4 high and 5 wide and I think 10 long. Using 1/2 in hardware cloth make a 4X7 flap and put a small bend on one end 1" so when you hinge it will lay flat on the botton. Put the flap in the tunnel and attach to the top so the bottom will not stick past the tunnel end. I catch as many as 3 at a time when young squirrels are first hitting the ground. The tube I attach to the side on the opposite end from the tunnel and cut the wire so you will have to bend the end out to go inside the pipe to help hold it in place. Hope this helps you..... Dimpsy ....

That's the same style that's on Croucher's site Dimpsy. I made the same thing minus the PVC tube.

If you put the PVC tube on it comes off and caps so you can take the squirrels and turn them loose and where they are in the pipe they want try and hurt their self all you have to do is get them in the pipe and thats it you dont have to carry the trap around ... Dimpsy ...

I didn't realize the tube was used that way Dimpsy. Guess I might have to make some changes to a couple of mine.
