Getting better

Boy we knocked the snot out of the fish yesterday. The sopnd still hasn't started but we did get 5 carp, 6 snake heads and 7 gar. One caro was 31 1/2in. A gar was 46 1/2 in (the biggest ever). And a 34 3/4in snake head. the2nd biggest ever.

We lost an arrow, broke 2 other arrows and had lots of fish pull off. Man what a day. We will go out again Sat. or Sun.

Of the 18 trash fish we got I wander how many game fish we have saved. It sure will give a few 100 of them a chance to see their first year.

Dan with yall gettin that many looks like yall would be saving lots of game fish and thinnin the trash out. If a full blown spawn starts I'd like to see how many yall can bag in a days time

Two times I just about sank a canoe. Both times it was full to the top.

That's great Dan. Gonna have to break down and get down there sometime. Sure would like to give it a whirl.

We went bow fishing today. The water was just a little ways from being muddy and the wind was blowing way too hard. But we did manage to get 6 snakeheads, 4 gar and 4 carp.
We shot 2 snakeheads that were tagged. I guess the Game Dept will give us a couple hats or something. I'll post a picture of the tags soon.

That's the problem wit DNR. They want them out of the water but then they catch them, tag 'em and put them back in. If they had them out, kill 'em and then go find more. JMHO.

These are the Snake heads that were taged. I agree with Kris. If they are so bad why tag them and then release them back to the water. So they can make 1000's of more killer fish????

I'm sure it's a study to see how far they are ranging but they could shock the water to find that information. Just don't make sense to me. It takes not more time or money to shock the water than it does to shock it and see what's in there. JMHO.

Vdan, I gotta come up there and do some Snakehead fishing! All the ones I've seen you with has a good bit of size on them. The tagging program for snakehead is more less intended to track their range and give us a little insight into their behavior in our waters since its apparent that we are not getting rid of them at this point......

You come on up. I'll put you on them real quick like. The are good to eat but watch your fingers when holding one. From their lips to their butt, they are all teath.
