Title: Some photo's fo our Bow Fishing
VADAN - April 22, 2012 09:34 PM (GMT)
This is where we put in to Bow Fish. Just a few unlucky fish.

Another fun day

Yes that was two with one shot. An old Indian trick.

We sure have been haveing a good time so far this year. The spond is has just started and it will pick up and turn into a mad house. 100's of fish thrashing around in the Spatter Duck at the same time is a sight you won't forget. I can't wait to get my Nephiew right in the middle of it.

Dan, if I get a license, would you be willing to take me sometime? Looks like too much fun.

Do I need anything special? I didn't see a reel on your pole. Are you using a special shaft? It looked like one of those special fishing shafts that I've seen at Cabela's. Just wondering what I need to get before I get down there.

Hick you will need a couple fishing arrows and some nylon cord like the brick layers use. No reel is needed, in fact I have used then but I never do any more.
The bow should be set at a low poundage. Around 45-50# at most. Unless the fishes back is out of the water you must shoot under it every time. If you dont you will miss.

My Buddy and I went out yesterday morning. We got 4 Snake heads and a Gar. The wend really kicked our butt's. Made it real hard to pole the boat around and also it's harder to see a fish in choppy water. To add to our lack of more fist, it rained all night Saturday. In some places there was pretty bad thunder storms.
The water must have droped a couple of deg. Carp start to spond when the water trmp reaches 70 Deg.
The SgtMgr will have a big ole smile on his face when the spond really gets going. I can't wait.
Has anyone ever cleaned a Gar? It's like trying to skin a piece of PVC Pipe.
I got a bag full of Gar Nuggets soaking right now. I'll fry them up soon.
